A latching magnetic switch is utilized to activate a push to start nutrunner or the like wherein the magnetic latching switch is deactivated first by one magnetic pole and thereafter upon engagement with the work piece and compression of the spindle and opposite pole of the magnet is utilized to activate the tool.

A separate thumb accessible pushbutton operated circuit revises the power operated tube nut wrench at a reduced speed to intercept a home stop wherein after the wrench is automatically shut off on the sensing of current rise in the motor on stall to avoid over stress and unnecessary heat buildup.

A modular retaining device provides ease of assembly and disassembly as well as versatility. Conversion from spring loaded plunger type retention to through hole pin type retention by pressing the retaining module in or out of a through hole cavity provides this versatility without the weakening effect of the intersecting bore hole required for known spring loaded plunger retention systems. A variety of configurations for the retaining element is provided.

A tilt valve cartridge for a pneumatic mechanism has a cylindrical housing having two open ends, an annular valve seat secured in one open end, a valve member in tiltable contact with the annular seat and having a valve stem which extends through the valve seat and protrudes from the end of the cylinder, a spring to hold the valve member in a normally closed relationship with the valve seat, a sealing element secured to the cylindrical housing on its exterior surface so as to seal the interface between the cartridge and the mechanism, and retention feature to capture the valve member and valve biasing spring within the cylindrical cartridge. The modular cartridge feature simplifies installation and replacement of the valve in the inlet air passage of the pneumatic mechanism.
