Disclosed is a valve assembly, having: a valve duct having an upstream end, a downstream end and a duct wall extending from the upstream end to the downstream end; a first conduit extending from a first end at the valve duct to a second end spaced apart from the first end, the first conduit terminating at a valve assembly component; and a washing filter that includes filer media, wherein the filter media extends into the valve duct to remove particles and provide a clean flow to the first conduit.

A manual positioning assembly for connection to a shaft of a valve configured to manually manipulate a disc of the valve between an open and closed position. The manual valve positioning assembly includes a housing having a first and a second end. The first end includes a flange configured for fastening the housing to the valve. The second end includes a conical feature. An alignment bushing within the second end of the housing and a double universal joint. The double universal joint includes a first end and a second end. The first end of the double universal joint is configured to be mechanically fastened to the shaft of the valve. The second end is positioned within the alignment bushing and includes a socket configured to receive a tool that manually turns the double universal joint, the shaft, and the disc to position the disc in the open or closed position.

A system may comprise a sensor configured to measure a characteristic of an engine component. A valve assembly may have an airflow outlet in fluid communication with the engine component. The valve assembly may include a first valve. A first valve control device may be coupled to the first valve and configured to control the first valve based on a measurement by the sensor. A second valve may be in fluidic series with the first valve. A second valve control device may be coupled to the second valve and configured to control the second valve based on the measurement by the sensor.

According to an aspect, a system includes a starter air valve in fluid communication with an air turbine starter to drive motoring of a gas turbine engine responsive to a compressed air flow from a compressed air source. The system also includes a variable-position electromechanical device operable to adjust positioning of the starter air valve and a discrete-position electromechanical device operable to adjust positioning of the starter air valve and limit a motoring speed of the gas turbine engine below a resonance speed of the gas turbine engine responsive to a pulse width modulation control based on a failure of the variable-position electromechanical device.

A multi-flapper check valve includes a housing with an opening surrounded by a ring-shaped rim, a plurality of flappers, and a hinge that connects an end of each flapper to the rim of the housing. When the multi-flapper check valve is in a closed position, a first edge of each flapper seals against a second edge of an adjacent flapper.

A butterfly valve assembly for use in a fluid flow containing particles of debris is provided including a valve element. The valve element has a seal groove that extends about a periphery and defines an upstream side and a downstream side of the valve element. A seal is disposed within the seal groove. A clearance exists between the seal and an edge of the seal groove. Also, a relief is formed in either the valve element or the seal. The particles of debris accumulate in the relief and not the clearance.

An example embodiment of a filter for a butterfly valve includes an inlet side having an axial inlet port and the first diameter D, a closed outer side having a second diameter D, and a filter body disposed between the inlet side and the outer side. The filter body has a filter diameter Dlarger than both Dand D, and includes a cylindrical wall retaining a pleated filter media. A plurality of perforations is formed through a main bore wall to serve as at least one exit for the filter.

A thrust plate for a butterfly valve includes a thrust plate body that defines a recess. The recess extends between a bottom thrust surface, side walls and an open top. A wear-resistant coating is located on the bottom thrust surface.

A bleed valve system includes a bleed valve, a valve regulator, a valve actuator and a reverse flow relief valve. The bleed valve is opened and closed to control a flow of bleed air from an upstream inlet to a downstream outlet. The valve regulator provides a servo pressure used to regulate the position of the bleed valve, and the valve actuator is mechanically connected to open/close the bleed valve based on the servo pressure provided by the valve regulator. The reverse flow relief valve compares a pressure upstream of the bleed valve to a pressure downstream of the bleed valve and in response to the downstream pressure exceeding the upstream pressure creates a fluid communication path between the servo pressure and an ambient pressure to decrease the servo pressure such that the bleed valve is closed.

An aircraft bleed system includes a low pressure supply port for delivering a first fluid at a first pressure. Also included is a high pressure supply port for delivering a second fluid at a second pressure, the second pressure greater than the first pressure. Further included is a feedback circuit in operable communication with the high pressure supply port for receiving the second fluid. The feedback circuit includes a first branch configured to route the second fluid to a high pressure control piston for manipulating the high pressure control piston between a high pressure closed position and a high pressure open position. The feedback circuit also includes a second branch configured to route the second fluid to a low pressure control piston moveably disposed within the high pressure control piston for manipulating the low pressure control piston between a low pressure closed position and a low pressure open position.

A piston includes an outer shell having a receptacle at one end and a link retainer. The link retainer is configured to be positioned within the receptacle and affixed to the outer shell. The link retainer and the outer shell each define an opposing wall of a sealing ring groove, and one of the link retainer and the outer shell has an outer surface defining a base of the sealing ring groove.
