Devices, systems, and methods for administering therapy to restore limb motion to patients in need are disclosed. The system may include a motion capture device to capture an exercise performed by a therapist. The exercise may be retrieved by the patient and used to generate a visual display used to guide the patient through the exercise in real time.

An interventional medical device for use with a motion-sensitive ultrasonic imaging system comprising a flexible elongated member for insertion into soft tissue, a two-axis, flexing mechanism coupled to the flexible elongated member and a mechanism for controlled electrical excitation of the flexible elongated member. Each of the axial flexing mechanisms, when acted upon by electrical excitation, forcibly bends the elongated member along a section of it length causing its tip to move in the plane of the applied bending force. As a direct result of direct energy coupling by bending rather than vibration, the relative phases of the two axes can be controlled to accomplish specific movement of the tip of the flexible elongated member.

A method of screening for non-steroidal neuropsychiatric agents includes determining the ability of a candidate non-steroidal agent to selectively regulate or alter the central nervous system content and/or bioavailability of an endogenous neuroactive steroid. In particular, the method includes determining the ability of the agent to selectively regulate a rate-limiting step in the bio-control of the bioavailable amount of an endogenous neuroactive steroid, wherein the rate-limiting step may be either a step in biosynthesis of an endogenous neuroactive steroid, such as allopregnanolone, or a step in the biodegradation of such an endogenous neuroactive steroid. Alternatively, the method may include determining the ability of a candidate agent in selectively regulating the rate of reuptake of an endogenous neuroactive steroid by neurons or glial cells.

Method of screening for non-steroidal neuropsychiatric agents

An alarm system is provided for alerting a golfer about a forgotten club. A divot tool incorporates a radio transmitter powered by a rechargeable power source for transmitting a coded transmission. A radio receiver tuned to receive the coded transmission includes logic circuitry that generates an alarm signal whenever power associated with the coded transmission drops below a threshold level. One or more alarm devices are coupled to the logic circuitry to generate alarm(s) when the alarm signal is supplied thereto. A power source is coupled to the radio receiver for supplying power thereto and for supplying a charging current for the rechargeable power source via an electrical coupling. When a golfer places a club or other accessory on the ground, the divot tool is placed near the club. As long as the golfer remains within a prescribed range, no alarm will be activated. However, if the golfer moves further from the divot tool than the prescribed range, an alarm is produced. Alerted to his forgetfulness before leaving the vicinity, the golfer then simply retrieves the club and divot tool.

Apparatus and method for injecting molten plastics material into a midsole cavity by the provision of channels entirely within at least one-half of a split side mold defining sides of the cavity. This arrangement eliminates the problems associated with injecting the molten plastics along a channel formed in the parting line between the side mold halves and particularly overcomes the problem of injecting molten plastics material incorporating a blowing agent to provide closed cells in the midsole.
