Embodiments disclosed herein include devices and methods for gripping electrical components. The electrical device gripping tool may include a rotating handle, a cam assembly, and a body. The rotating handle may be attached to the assembly and the cam assembly may include a cam holder that fits over the cam to connect the rotating handle to the body. Furthermore, the body may include a first body half and a second body half that are each separately coupled to the cam such that the first body half and the second body half slide towards each other and slide away from each other with respect to a rotation of the rotating handle. In addition, shields are optionally attached to the first and second body half such that they assist in the removal of the electrical device without its terminals making contact with the containment box.

In addition, the device includes guide grooves configured to receive guide pins from a fiber ribbon connector, such that when the fiber ribbon connector is attached to the device, fibers of the ribbon align with the optoelectronic device via the light transmission medium.

A device for forming an optical connection between an optoelectronic device and an optical fiber, forming an electrical connection between the optoelectronic device and an integrated circuit, and a forming an electrical connection between the microelectronic device and a substrate, a system including the device, and a method of forming the device and system are disclosed. The device for forming an optical connection includes a light transmission medium and electrical connectors, which are at least partially encapsulated. In addition, the device includes guide grooves configured to receive guide pins from a fiber ribbon connector portion of a fiber ribbon cable assembly, such that when the fiber ribbon connector is attached to the device, the transmission medium provides an optical path between the optoelectronic device and the fiber.

A system for coupling optoelectronic devices, associated electrical components, and optical fibers is described. The system includes a substrate to which optoelectronic devices and at least some of the associated electronic components are formed on or formed using the substrate material. The substrate is further configured to receive and attach to one or more optical fibers. The system can be used to form transceivers for multiplexing and/or demultiplexing electronic information.

Optical interconnect structure, system and transceiver including the structure, and method of forming the same

A receiver used in a system having a transmitter (10) that sends an exciting signal to a remote transponder (18) is configured to receive a relatively weak signal from the transponder and to cancel out relatively high level interference from the transmission itself. A received frequency shift keying signal is fed to a tuned amplifier (22) for preliminary analog signal conditioning, and thence fed to an analog to digital converter (24). The output of the analog to digital converter is integrated (26) over a selected number of clock pulses and then dumped into a quarter rate quadrature demodulator (60) that multiplies the integrated signal by the same signal delayed by one clock interval. Undesired artifacts generated in the demodulator (60) are removed by a cascade of comb filters (70), and the demodulated digital output is available as the desired output of the receiver. The several clock signals of the system are all referenced from a basic exciter signal that itself gives rise to the transmitted interference signal so that the interference and all timing signals are approximately synchronous.
