A solid state switch for electro-explosive devices. Fundamentally, the switch includes a matrix of transformers, each having a center-tap primary winding and a grounded secondary winding, the secondary having a bridge wire connected thereacross. Power gating circuitry is provided for applying a DC voltage to the center-tap primary of all transformers in a selected row. A pair of transistors are connected through diodes to opposite ends of all of the primary windings of the transistors in each column. A driver alternately gates the pair of transistors of a selected column into and out of conduction such that the current through the primary of the transformer common to both the selected row and selected column is of alternating direction, inducing an AC current into the associated secondary winding. The bridge wire of the secondary is thus energized by an AC current.

A conductor for transmitting an electrical signal from a signal generator on a rotating member to a signal detector on a relatively stationary member across the motion interface between the two members comprises at least one solid carbon graphite ring mounted coaxially between the two members and having a first annular surface in intimate contact with a mating conductive surface on the signal generator and having a second annular surface in intimate contact with a mating conductive surface on the stationary member that is electrically connected to the signal detector, said carbon graphite ring functioning as an electrical interconnection between the two members.

A battery condition monitoring device which senses battery terminal voltage and creates a function thereof and tests that function against predetermined criteria and determines battery condition as a result of such tests. Furthermore, the invention operates on the transient of the battery terminal voltage existant immediately upon the loading of the battery. The test is performed on the slope of the terminal voltage transient and a function of that transient during a test period is created, analyzed and evaluated against reference levels.
