A clipping bar device is provided for use with a vehicle exhaust aftertreatment device in order to securely guide, secure, and protect wires, tubes, cables, or conduits which may pass in close proximity with the vehicle exhaust aftertreatment device. The clipping bar device may share mounting points with a heat shield, and is provided with a series of holes, so as to be compatible with multiple feature configurations. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. Electrical harness clipping bar for aftertreatment device

A mounting arrangement for a modular component such as a fuel tank on a vehicle includes sub-assembly of the fuel tank on a carrier for installation on the chassis. Alignment is provided by alignment arms extending outwardly from the chassis cooperating with mounting tabs disposed downwardly from the module. The alignment arms are members of a pair of brackets which are attached to the frame rails. The module rests on the brackets when lowered onto the chassis. Frame and module are connected by fasteners between the brackets and the mounting tabs.

Sub-assembly mounting system

The invention relates to a motor vehicle frame. The frame is constructed from two parallel siderails running longitudinally down the length of the vehicle. An intermediate cross member support is positioned between the siderails to support a driver's cab. A datum support hole is positioned through each siderail to support mounting of one end of the cross member support for the driver's cab. The remaining support holes are arrayed in rows and columns positioned with reference to the datum support hole. A first row of supplemental support holes runs parallel to a bottom flange on each siderail and includes the datum support hole. A second row of supplemental support holes in each siderail runs parallel to and above the first row. A third row of supplemental support holes in each siderail runs parallel to the first and second rows and is positioned above the second row by the distance as the second row is above the first row.

A mounting arrangement for a modular component such as a fuel tank for a vehicle such as a truck and a method of installing same on the vehicle. The method is accomplished via a combination of a set or sets of two brackets and an initial alignment means for each set of brackets. The initial alignment means is comprised of two mating components, with one mating component being a portion of one bracket and the other mating component being a portion of the second bracket. One bracket of each set is installed directly to a portion of the vehicle under manufacture, such as to the frame rail. A modular assembly is assembled separately with the second bracket of each set installed on the modular assembly. The sets of brackets are joined via the initial alignment means attaching the modular assembly to the vehicle. Final attachment may then be made between the set or sets of two brackets and hence the modular assembly and the vehicle, while the modular assembly is held into proper position via the initial alignment means. This attachment method may be used on a battery box assembly both with and without an attached air tank.

Modular fuel tank assembly, vehicle mounting arrangement and method for

A fire truck cooling system allows for precooling of hot water from the vehicle engine prior to receipt of same by the vehicle radiator. The system includes a precooler which is provided with cooling water either from an onboard water tank when the vehicle is racing to a fire or from a fire hydrant when pumping water at the scene of the fire. A control system comprising pressure switches, a shuttle valve, and a directional control valve allows the precooler to operate on tank water and to automatically switch to hydrant water when such is made available by the main fire control water pump of the vehicle.
