A method and apparatus for processing documents is provided. The documents may be conveyed to a feeder for feeding documents to a scanner. The scanner scans each document to obtain image data and then discharges the document to one or more output or sort locations. The system may include a skew reduction assembly for reducing skew in the documents as the documents are fed to the scanner. The system may also include elements for improving image quality and reducing document damage while the document is scanned. The system may further include features for improving the stacking of the discharged documents.

Document imaging apparatus with leading edge engagement for improved performance

A panel assembly includes a vertical panel, an overhang panel and a curved transition panel disposed between the vertical panel and the overhang panel. A fabric layer may be applied to one or more of the various panels by way of a stay being engaged with fabric layer and inserted through an opening in the one or panels. A light assembly may be secured to the panel assembly with a mounting portion. A hook assembly includes vertical and horizontal flanges, with a magnet coupled to the horizontal flange and a hook connected to the vertical flange.

A method and apparatus for processing mail is provided. A feeder serially feeds envelope from a stack of mail. Two cutters at a cutting station cuts one or two edges of the envelopes. As the envelopes travel from the feeder to the cutters the envelope is jogged on two edges to justify the contents with the envelopes. Additionally, an improved feeder is provided to reduce the number of jams created when feeding the envelopes from the stack.

A system is provided for processing documents. In particular, the system is incorporates a feeder for feeding documents to a device for further processing of the documents. For instance, the system finds particular application in the field of document imaging in which a variety of documents of varying sizes and orientation are to be fed to an imaging system, such as a document scanner. The system may provide an input mechanism for easily identifying a characteristic of one of the documents and the system may include features for handling packets of documents.

An attachment plate is disposed between and coupled to the top of the support column and to the bottom of the worksurface. A leveling component is disposed between the support column and the attachment plate. A cart assembly including a frame having a horizontal worksurface, a plurality of vertical support members extending upwardly from the horizontal worksurface and an upper rail spaced above the horizontal worksurface and connected to the vertical support members. The rail defines an opening at one end thereof. A screen is moveable between at least first and second positions. The screen is moveable through the opening and is supported in an interior space of the frame in the first position. The screen is disposed outside the interior space in the second position.
