A vehicular secured communication system includes a plurality of electronic control units disposed at a vehicle and interconnected by a communication network of the vehicle. The vehicular secured communication system determines if data received at an interface disposed at the vehicle is valid by (i) determining correspondence of a first parameter received via the communication network from a first electronic control unit of the plurality of electronic control units with a second parameter received via the communication network from a second electronic control unit of the plurality of electronic control units, (ii) determining correspondence of the first and second parameters with a current vehicle operating parameter or driving condition or driver profile, and (iii) comparing a vehicle behavior indicated by the received data to the current vehicle operating parameter or driving condition or driver profile.

Vehicular secured communication system

A vehicular driving assistance system includes an exterior viewing camera disposed at a vehicle and viewing exterior of the vehicle. Image data captured by the camera is provided to and processed at an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU performs processing tasks for multiple vehicle systems. The ECU prioritizes processing of a plurality of tasks including a higher priority task and a lower priority task. Responsive to prioritization by the ECU of the higher priority task, the system (i) processes captured image data at the ECU for the higher priority task and the (ii) uploads captured image data to the cloud for processing at a remote processor. Processing of uploaded captured image data at the remote processor comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of (i) data negotiation, (ii) data collection, (iii) load analysis, (iv) load distribution and (v) monitoring.

Vehicular driving assist system with enhanced data processing

A vehicular driving assistance system includes an exterior viewing camera disposed at a vehicle and viewing exterior of the vehicle. Image data captured by the camera is provided to and processed at an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU performs processing tasks for multiple vehicle systems. The vehicular driving assistance system is operable to wirelessly upload captured image data to the cloud for processing at a remote processor. Processing tasks with a higher priority are determined at the ECU to be higher priority tasks. Responsive to determination at the ECU of a higher priority task, the vehicular driving assistance system (i) processes captured image data at the ECU for the higher priority task and (ii) uploads captured image data to the cloud for processing at the remote processor of processing at the remote processor.

A vehicular driving assistance system includes an exterior viewing camera disposed at a vehicle and an ECU disposed at the vehicle for processing captured image data to detect an object exterior of the vehicle. The ECU performs processing tasks for multiple vehicle systems, including at least (i) a headlamp control system, (ii) a collision avoidance system and (iii) a lane departure warning system. Responsive to determination at the ECU that one of the multiple vehicle systems requires safety critical processing, (i) processing for that vehicle system is determined at the ECU to be a higher priority task, (ii) the ECU performs safety critical processing for that higher priority task and (iii) lower priority processing tasks are shifted from the ECU to other processors within the vehicle so that the ECU maximizes safety critical processing for that higher priority task.

Vehicle driving assist system with enhanced data processing

A vehicular secured communication system includes a plurality of ECUs disposed at a vehicle and a receiver of the vehicle that is configured to wirelessly receive data from exterior of the vehicle. The receiver and the plurality of ECUs are interconnected by a communication network of the vehicle. A processor is operable to process data received by the receiver and communicated by the communication network. The processor filters the communicated data by utilizing a two-step filtering process including (i) receiving first and second communication messages with respective first and second parameters from respective first and second ECUs and determining correspondence of the first and second parameters with one another and determining correspondence of the first and second parameters with a behavior of a driver of the vehicle, and (ii) comparing the behavior indicated by the communicated data to a profile typical for the driver of the vehicle.

A driving assistance system for a vehicle includes a processor of the vehicle operable to process data for the driving assistance system. The driving assistance system determines a priority for various processing tasks required by one or more systems of the vehicle. Responsive to the determination of the priority of various processing tasks required by one or more systems of the vehicle, the processor determines a task with a higher priority than other lower priority tasks and is operable to process the higher priority task and to shift processing of lower priority tasks to other processors within the vehicle.

A secured communication system for a vehicle includes a communication network of the vehicle, and a processor operable to process information communicated by the communication network. An interface of the vehicle receives data from exterior of the vehicle, and the communication network communicates information from the interface to a plurality of electronic control units of the vehicle. The processor filters the communicated information to determine if the communicated information is uncorrupted. The processor filters the communicated information by utilizing a two-step filtering process including (i) examining multiple electronic control units involved with the communicated information to determine if parameters of the involved electronic control units correspond with one another and with the current operating conditions of the vehicle, and (ii) comparing the behavior indicated by the communicated information to a profile typical for the driver of the vehicle or the current operating conditions of the vehicle.

Vehicle secured communication system

A method of estimating a distance between a mobile unit and a vehicle includes providing a time of flight subsystem including circuitry incorporated in the mobile unit and circuitry incorporated in the vehicle, and generating a time of flight distance signal by periodically transmitting a time of flight signal between the mobile unit and the vehicle and measuring the time taken for transmission of the time of flight signal therebetween. A travel sensor is disposed at the mobile unit and generates a travel sensor signal. A value of a distance estimate signal is initialized based on the time of flight distance signal. A movement of the mobile unit is determined based on variance in the travel sensor signal. The initialized value of the initialized distance estimate signal is changed or increased or decreased based upon determination of movement of the mobile unit.

System and method for estimating distance between a mobile unit and a vehicle using a TOF system

A ranging system includes a time of flight subsystem including circuitry incorporated in a mobile node and a base station for generating a TOF signal between the mobile node and the base station, measuring the time taken for transmission of the TOF signal, and generating a TOF distance signal based on the measured time. An accelerometer, mounted in the mobile node, generates an accelerometer signal. A distance filter generates the distance estimate. The filter is configured to (i) initialize the value of a distance estimate signal based on the TOF distance signal, (ii) detect a human step based on variances in the accelerometer signal, and (iii) change the value of the distance estimate signal by a predetermined quantum only upon detection of the human step, the change being positive or negative depending on a direction of the TOF distance signal relative to the distance estimate signal.

Step filter for estimating distance in a time-of-flight ranging system

A remote vehicle control system having a base transceiver mounted in a vehicle and a mobile key fob. The base transceiver utilizes an omni-directional antenna to communicate wirelessly with the key fob via the IEEE 802.15.4 communication protocol. Additional antennas are mounted to the vehicle and are also tuned to communicate over the IEEE 802.15.4 bandwidth. The additional antennas have radiation patterns extending outwardly to various sides of the vehicle (e.g., driver, passenger and rear sides). The system provides remote control functions and enables passive keyless entry functions such as unlocking doors or trunk latches by detecting the presence of the key fob proximate to one or more sides of the vehicle based on the ability of the key fob to communicate over IEEE 802.15.4 via the additional antennas.
