An electronic circuit assembly comprises a substrate and circuit components attached to the substrate by means of an electrically conductive adhesive, wherein the adhesive is releasable under predetermined release conditions, whereby to enable the circuit components to be removed from the substrate for recovery or re-use.

A rotary electric switchcomprises a basehaving a rotary actuatormounted thereon, the baseincluding a pair of substantially parallel, spaced apart substrate layers. Each layerhas a first surfacewhich faces the other substrate layerand a second surfacewhich faces away from the other substrate layer, the first surfaceof each layer having an electrically conducting contactprovided thereon. At least one of the substrate layersis deformable towards the other so as to effect an electrical connection between the contactson the two layers, and the rotary actuatorincludes a projectionwhich engages against the second surfaceof said deformable substrate layerso as to press it towards the other layerin the immediate vicinity of the projection. In this way, rotation of the rotary actuatormoves the projectionrelative to the substratesand hence varies the point of electrical connection between the contacts
