A tool for a brake system may comprise a tool body configured to fit within a recess of a body of the caliper assembly. The tool body comprises a first section; the first side comprises a raised surface; the second side comprises a base surface. The first section is to be inserted into the recess of the caliper assembly; in a first mode the first piston set is blocked by the raised surface and the second piston set is unblocked; in a second mode the second piston set is blocked by the raised surface and the first piston set is unblocked. The tool body comprises a second section to be inserted into the recess of the caliper assembly; in a third mode both the first piston set and the second piston set are blocked from movement. A brake system may comprise an improved master cylinder assembly.

Tool for brake system

A brake assembly for a handlebar of a bicycle is disclosed. The brake assembly may be configured so that the position of the brake lever relative to the handlebar may conveniently be adjusted to fit the preferences of the rider/operator of the bicycle (e.g. adjustment of the default position of the lever relative to the handlebar for the 'reach adjust' feature). Adjustment of the default position of the lever relative to the body and handlebar may be provided between a near distance/position through an intermediate distance/position to a far distance/position (e.g. adjustment of “finger contact point”/reference point on brake lever relative to handlebar for preference of a rider/operator of the bicycle).

Brake assembly

A brake system for a vehicle such as a bicycle is disclosed. The brake system may comprise an improved master cylinder assembly configured (e.g. manufactured/produced, assembled, etc.) so that a setting and/or adjustment of the brake stroke and/or lever action/actuation can be provided by any one independent mechanism (e.g. without any other adjustment mechanism) or by a combination of adjustment mechanisms (e.g. in a combination with one or more adjustment mechanism); operation of a mechanism for setting and/or adjusting the brake stroke may comprise a feature configured to engage a pushrod (e.g. by direct action on the pushrod or a feature of the pushrod or by indirect action through a link, adjuster, etc. configured to engage the pushrod). The master cylinder assembly may be configured to be set and/or adjusted/tuned within the indicated range to provide an intended performance and/or 'feel' for the operator at the brake lever.

Brake system

A brake system for a vehicle such as a bicycle is disclosed. The brake system may comprise an improved master cylinder assembly configured for adjustment (such as adjustment of the stroke length, stroke start, etc.). The brake system may comprise a caliper assembly with an improved arrangement of flow paths configured to facilitate maintenance (such as to remove/bleed air and/or fluid from the body of the caliper assembly, inspection, etc.); the caliper assembly may also be configured for use with a tool (e.g. configured to fit in body to remove/bleed air and/or fluid from flow paths during maintenance). The master cylinder assembly may be configured (e.g. manufactured/produced, assembled, etc.) so that a setting and/or adjustment of the brake stroke and/or lever action/actuation can be provided by any one independent mechanism or one separate adjustment mechanism (e.g. without any other adjustment mechanism) or by a combination of adjustment mechanisms (e.g. in a combination with one or more adjustment mechanism); operation of a mechanism for setting and/or adjusting the brake stroke (e.g. travel of piston) may comprise engagement of a pushrod; the mechanism may comprise a feature configured to engage the pushrod (e.g. by direct action on the pushrod or a feature of the pushrod or by indirect action through a link, adjuster, etc. configured to engage the pushrod). The master cylinder assembly may be configured to be set and/or adjusted/tuned within the indicated range to provide an intended performance and/or 'feel' for the operator at the brake lever (e.g. at an adjuster, link, etc.).

A brake system for a bicycle is disclosed. The brake system comprises an actuation mechanism shown as a master cylinder assembly and a brake or brake mechanism for the wheels of the bicycle. The mechanism/assembly comprises (among other parts, components and assemblies) a body or housing, a piston assembly, an actuating lever on a pivot pin, a bladder, a retainer and a primary seal. The bladder is fixed at a first end to the piston and fixed at a second end to the retainer. A reservoir is defined by the piston, the body, and the bladder. Advancement of the piston along the stroke causes the piston to seal against a primary seal and separate the reservoir from a pressure chamber in the body. A retainer may be provided to seal the bladder to the body, act as a piston guide bushing, act as a pivot bushing, and act as a stroke limiter. Upon advancement the piston will contact the primary seal and separate the reservoir from the pressure chamber as the bladder rolls out thus pressurizing the fluid. Stroke is limited at one end by a feature on the retainer which contacts the cam surface on the lever preventing further rotation/movement and at the other end by a stop pin.

Disclosed herein is an adjustable lever assembly with a lever having an adjustment section and a grip section, where the adjustment section includes a slide passage in communication with an adjuster passage, and an adjuster positioned at least partially inside the adjuster passage, the adjuster having a threaded inner passage extending therethrough. The adjustable lever assembly further includes a slide positioned substantially inside the slide passage, the slide including an outer wall surface that is keyed to the slide passage and a threaded outer portion for rotatably engaging the threaded inner passage of the adjuster, wherein rotation of the adjuster translates the slide about the adjuster passage, and wherein the slide includes a bottom portion configured for securing pivotally to a pushrod.

System and method for an adjustable lever assembly

A brake system comprising a brake disc that rotates about a center axis, a brake mount, a brake caliper attached to the brake mount and including a brake pad, and an adjuster between the brake mount and the brake caliper. The adjuster can move the brake pad toward and/or away from the brake disc. In one embodiment, the brake caliper is attached to the brake mount by a post extending through an elongated opening in the brake caliper and nonparallel to the center axis. The adjuster can change a relative location of the post within the elongated opening. The adjuster can include an end that extends into the elongated opening and works against the post. The post can include a fastener threaded to the brake mount in a direction substantially perpendicular to the center axis, and the fastener can extend through an elongated opening in the brake caliper.

A preferred device for cleaning an ear of corn including at least one of shuck and silk includes a platform having a top surface and a bottom surface. A cob cleaner aperture arranged in the platform is configured to receive the ear of corn therethrough. A cleaning member extends into the cob cleaner aperture and is adapted to engage the ear of corn inserted into the cob cleaner aperture. The cleaning member is adapted to remove at least a portion of at least one of the shuck and silk as the ear of corn is rotated and engages the cleaning member. Methods of operation are also provided.

Devices for cleaning an ear of corn and methods

A preferred device for making cream-style corn includes a corn-receiving member and a blade member. The corn-receiving member incorporates a first open end and defines an interior that is configured to receive at least a portion of an ear of corn. The blade member includes a blade that is movably mounted within the interior so as to be movable between a retracted position and an extended position. In the extended position, the blade is configured to engage an ear of corn inserted into the interior of the corn-receiving member so that, as the ear of corn is rotated about its longitudinal axis, the blade tears open individual kernels of the ear of corn and allows liquid and fibrous contents of the kernels to drain into the corn-receiving member. Systems and methods also are provided.
