A spray apparatus adapted to be connected to a fluid supply such as a syringe to spray a predetermined pattern of spray fluid to a target area such as the tissues of an animal or human. The sprayer delivers a predetermined dose of a medicament, vaccine or the like to the nasal or other cavity of an animal or human patient. The sprayer includes a base member and a cap member which is connected to the base member. The base member is connectible to the fluid supply. Spray is discharged from the distal or outward end of the cap member. The base member has a central, longitudinal lumen having a predetermined configuration. Fluid traverses the lumen and is discharged through a central aperture of the cap, which also has a predetermined configuration. The cap central lumen and spray discharge aperture are aligned with the base lumen.

Sprayer technology

A quick change adapter and method for use in intravenous treatment of large animals such as cattle, horses, pigs, goats and the like. A method for changing bottles of fluids used in intravenous (IV) fluid therapy, includes the steps of (a) providing an IV set including a funnel having a connection aperture, the funnel being constructed of elastic material; (b) providing an adapter apparatus comprising a cannular portion adapted for sealing mating with the fluid egress aperture of a fluid bottle and a lip portion adapted for sealing mating with the funnel aperture; (c) coupling the interface apparatus in a semi-permanent fashion to the funnel by inserting the lip portion into the funnel connection aperture; (d) inserting the cannular portion into the fluid egress aperture of the fluid bottle; and (e) inverting the fluid bottle to facilitate the flow of fluid. The adapter for connecting an IV Set to a bottle containing fluid, the IV Set of the type having a flexible funnel with a female-type connection aperture, includes a generally cylindrical body with a fluid flow lumen, the body having a lip disposed at one end adapted for male-type connection to the IV Set connection aperture, the opposing end of the body being adapted for male-type insertion into the fluid egress aperture of the bottle.

Gland puller for use in rebuilding hydraulic cylinders. Upon insertion of the first end of the elongated rod into a shaft hole of the hydraulic cylinder gland assembly beyond a first point, the rotating protrusion member is configured to rotate from the first position to the second position, and upon rotating the threaded collar along the threaded portion towards the first end, the elongated rod is configured to be pulled back from the first point to a second point where a surface of the at least one end of the rotating protrusion member is configured to abut an inner surface of the hydraulic cylinder gland assembly while a surface of the threaded collar is configured to abut an outer surface of the hydraulic cylinder gland.

An apparatus for measuring and dispensing liquid from a container includes a measuring chamber having an inlet connected to the opening of the container. A cap member is rotatably attached to the measuring chamber. The cap member includes a dispensing outlet and a fill level member. A liquid delivery member is in fluid communication with the measuring chamber and the container. The fill level member is operatively associated with the liquid delivery member to deliver liquid from the container to the measuring chamber. By compressing the container, a volume of liquid is retained within the measuring chamber from flowing back into the container by the fill level member. The measured portion of liquid retained in the measuring chamber is available for dispensing from the dispensing outlet. A method for measuring and dispensing a measured portion of liquid from a container is also disclosed.

A high pressure laser welding method and apparatus enables seam welding of a nuclear fuel rod at hyperbaric pressure. In an automatic process, a loaded fuel rod and an upper end plug are mated within a sealable weld box. A pressure within the weld box is controlled relative to a pressure within the fuel rod, and a laser assembly welds the seam at hyperbaric pressure. Helium flowing through a laser window nozzle during welding prevents soot contamination of the laser window glass and prevents formation of ionic plasma. The upper end plug fuel rod welding operation is thus reduced to a single step and eliminates inspection related tasks with respect to a sealed hole.

High pressure laser welding of nuclear fuel rods

End plugs for nuclear fuel rods are provided with a spot weld along the interior end face of the end plugs to seal any streamer openings or passages along the axis of the end plugs, thereby maintaining the fuel rods sealed at its opposite ends. The spot welds are applied by an automated laser welding system in which pallets of end plugs are supported on X-Y positioning tables below a laser movable in a vertical direction. By successively locating the end plugs in the pallet below the laser, the spot welds are formed along the axis of the end plugs and along the interior faces thereof sealing the end plugs.

Apparatus and methods for sealing end plugs for nuclear fuel rods

In a nuclear reactor fuel bundle assembly having a plurality of fuel rods and a non-round water rod extending between upper and lower tie plates, and having at least one fuel rod spacer located along the non-round water rod, an improvement which includes cooperating components on the fuel rod spacer and on the water rod for permitting movement of the spacer along the water rod to a desired axial location and for thereafter preventing further axial movement of the spacer in at least one of two opposite axial directions, the cooperating components including at least one spring on one of the spacer and the water rod.

Spacer capture mechansim for non-round water rods

Fluoride is recovered from an aqueous ammonium fluoride and ammonium hydroxide solution by electrolyzing the solution in an electrochemical cell having an ion-exchange membrane between a catholyte chamber and an anolyte chamber whereby hydrofluoric acid is formed and the concentration of ammonium hydroxide is enriched. Part of the hydrofluoric acid can be combined with the ammonium fluoride remaining after the ammonium hydroxide had been stripped from the treated solution to produce ammonium acid fluoride.
