Disclosed is an improved reel assembly for use in conjunction with an occupant restraint system. The assembly employs a dual locking arrangement whereby an occupant can be restrained during both major and minor incidents. After a major incident, the reel assembly remains locked until the occupant disengages the reel via a push button. After a minor incident, the reel assembly can be conveniently unlocked, without the need for accessing the push button, by applying counter tension to the webbing.

Reel lock for passenger restraint having dual locking positions

A pressing device is disclosed including a housing, a lower engaged to that housing and adapted to receive products to be pressed and an upper platen engaged to the housing and manually translatable with respect to the lower platen. A handle mechanism is connected to the upper platen for translating the upper platen with respect to the lower platen. The handle mechanism includes a resilient over-center locking mechanism for translating the upper platen to a locked position proximate the lower platen, whereupon the upper platen is further translated towards the lower platen independent of manual force.

Press machine

A device for simultaneously and evenly toasting articles of differing contours and dimensions arranged upon a heated griddle. A clamshell plate, positioned in stand-off relationship above said griddle-arranged articles, has a plurality of slideably moveable fingers or pins mounted therein which float, that is, are brought into contacting and resting relation with the upper surfaces of said articles to provide a gentle pressure thereon to urge the lower surfaces into more intimate contact with the griddle until the toasting process is completed, thereby accelerating the toasting process without undesirable side effects such as distortion of, and condensation on, the upper surfaces and caramelization of the lower surfaces of said articles.

Floating clamshell griddle toaster

There is provided a manually actuated press comprising a housing having a lower platen attached thereto. The lower platen defines a generally planar top surface. Moreover, at least one upper platen is in mechanical communication with the housing and defines a generally plated bottom surface. The at least one upper platen is translatable with respect to the lower platen in a manner forming a generally parallel relationship between the bottom and top surfaces when within a prescribed distance range therefrom. Further, the at least one upper platen is rotatable with respect to the lower platen when exceeding the prescribed distance range.

Digitally controlled clamshell press

A laminating heating module for use in a flatbed laminating machine. The heating module comprises an elongate body portion with at least one heating pad attached thereto. The heating pad is fabricated from silicone rubber and includes three separate heating zones for regulating the heat to the body portion. Attached to each heating zone of the heating pad is a respective thermocouple to control the temperature of each heating zone. The heating module further comprises a thermostat attached to the heating pad and operative to protect the temperature of the body portion of the heating module from overheating.

Laminating heating module

Two ion beams are accelerated on coincident paths in high vacuum with particle velocity vectors at 180.degree. relative to one another to increase collison and fusion probabilities. The ion beams may be of the same or of different polarities and may both be the same isotope, or may be respectively of deuterium and tritium. A heat exchange fluid such as liquid lithium is in heat exchange contact with the vacuum chamber to remove energy generated by fusion reactions between colliding and fusing particles of the two beams. The velocity vectors of the beams are controlled over a narrow range in both magnitude and direction so that there is sufficient energy to encourage the fusion reaction but not so high as to cause the particles to have elastic collisions. The intersecting or coincident beams may move linearly toward one another or may move in identical circular paths having the identical geometry or paths which intersect at at least one point.

Process and apparatus for producing nuclear fusion energy

A heat exchanger having a hollow inner housing positioned within a hollow outer housing, each housing being incomplete about its periphery to provide a pair of spaced apart edges. Adjacent peripheral edges of the housings are connected together in sealed relationship along the entire length of the housings while maintaining the space between the peripheral edges of the same housing, and surfaces of the inner and outer housings opposite to the peripheral edges are secured together in sealed relationship so as to be readily bendable in hinging fashion to permit the spaced peripheral edges to be separated and positioned about an existing fluid carrying conduit. A pair of end closure caps are provided at each end connecting the inner and outer housings together and closing the ends to provide a pair of cavities between the two housings. Inlet and outlet tubes are provided to each cavity. The inner housing has a flange extending outwardly at each peripheral edge and fastening members are attached to the flanges to draw them together and tighten the inner housing against the conduit.
