Embodiments of an optical fiber splice tray assembly for attachment to a backplane are disclosed. In an embodiment, an optical fiber splice tray assembly includes a primary tray having a primary tray base, fiber retention means for retaining optical fiber against the primary tray base, fiber splice accommodation means, first attachment means for attaching the primary tray to the backplane, and second attachment means for attaching a secondary tray having a secondary tray base, to the primary tray, wherein the secondary tray is attached indirectly to the backplane via the primary tray using the second attachment means.

Primary and secondary flexibility suites include joined blown fiber tubes routed as desired within the installation. A continuous blown fiber unit may extend through the joined blown fiber tubes. An installation for terminates a network cable of a public communication network at customer premises. The network cable is terminted and a connector allows a connection to be made between the public communication network and the customer premises via the termination. The termination is enclosed within an external wall of the customer premises. A first closeable access aperture is provided to permit access to the termination from outside the customer premises, and a second closeable access aperture is provided to permit access to the termination from within the customer premises.

The present invention provides an assembly for use in connecting optical fibers. The assembly may comprise a plurality of housings for housing connections between optical fibers and a guide arrangement for guiding optical fibres into the housings. The guide arrangement may comprise a plurality of guide devices each having one inlet port for the passage of optical fibres into the guide arrangement and one outlet port for guiding optical fibers into the housing.
