The invention relates to signaling of MGW identity in SIP-I. A Call Control Unit of a network includes an Input/Output unit. Technology for method for reducing the number of unsuccessful service change attempts of a first mobile terminal is presented. The first mobile terminal is connectable via a mobile network to a further terminal by establishing a call connection for providing a first service or by establishing a call connection for providing a second service. The first mobile terminal receives a first indication signal indicating that a service change to the second service is temporarily unavailable from a mobile network node administrating an established call connection for providing the first service. In response to receiving the first indication signal, the first mobile terminal refrains from requesting a service change to the second service until reception of a further indication signal from the mobile network node indicating that a service change is available again.

A technique is provided for use by a user terminal or mobile services switching center (MSC) for responding to a request to switch an on-going call from speech mode to multimedia mode within a wireless communication network configured to automatically disconnect a call if a requested mode switch is not confirmed within a predetermined period of time specified by a call drop timer. In one example, the terminal or MSC activates an automatic response timer upon receipt of a request from a user to switch an on-going call from speech to multimedia, with the timer set shorter than the call drop timer. The user receiving the request is then prompted to accept or decline the request. If no response is received before expiration of the automatic response timer, the terminal or MSC automatically declines the request on behalf of the user so that the call drop timer does not expire.

The invention relates to methods and devices that enable to request more than one service during call set-up. The present invention relates generally to telecommunication services and, in particular, to a system and method of managing a call, particularly with regard to a modification to bearer characteristics. In another aspect the invention provides a media gateway controller being operable to request indications and to receive indications from at least one media gateway of the capability of the at least one media gateway to modify a characteristic of a bearer established by the at least media gateway. In a preferred embodiment the invention provides a media gateway controller operable to receive requests for an indication of the capability of the at least one media gateway to modify a characteristic of a bearer established by the media gateway.
