This document describes high-tolerance channels for multi-part waveguide and antenna. Two structures with planar surfaces are arranged about a separation plane. The planar surfaces are contoured to shape, respectively, an upper channel section and a complementary, lower channel section from an opposite side of the separation plane. Surface features on one or both planar surfaces are shaped to provide physical dimensions (e.g., length, width, and height) for a channel between the upper and lower channel sections. When arranged about the separation plane, the two structures configure an electromagnetic (EM) energy path to propagate a desired EM energy through the channel. At least one of the surface features is shaped to compensate the physical dimensions for achieving different path dimensions inside the channel to enable the EM energy path for propagating the desired wavelength or frequency of EM energy about the separation plane.

Production-tolerant multi-part antenna system

An antenna assembly including: a circuit board with an integrated circuit configured to process a radio frequency (RF) signal, and a conductive trace extending from the integrated circuit; a waveguide plate over the circuit board, the waveguide plate including a waveguide configured to guide the RF signal at least one of to and from the conductive trace; and a conductive top plate over the waveguide plate. The conductive top plate includes: an outer surface and an inner surface facing the waveguide plate, the outer surface is opposite to the inner surface; a plurality of slots aligned with the waveguide and extending through the conductive top plate; and a receptacle recessed below the outer surface beside the plurality of slots, the receptacle configured to modify a radiation pattern of the RF signal passing across the receptacle from the plurality of slots.

Antenna assembly including negative harmonic wave-ground

An antenna assembly configured to steer a radio frequency (RF) signal to a focus area offset from an azimuth center. The antenna assembly includes a feed horn defined by a conductive top plate between an inner surface and an outer surface of the plate. The feed horn is aligned with a waveguide. A step is defined by the conductive top plate extending from a surface of the feed horn towards the focus area. The step is configured to steer the RF signal to emanate from the outer surface of the conductive top plate towards the focus area.
