One or more network devices provide, to a user device, a content list of content items available for presentation. The one or more network devices receive, from the user device, a personalized channel plan that includes a schedule of selected content items, from the content list, for presentation on a viewing device that is different than the user device. The one or more network devices select, based on the selected content items, advertising for inclusion with the selected content items and assign links for the viewing device to obtain the selected content items. The one or more network devices send the links to the user device, which may in turn be provided to the viewing device.

Network for personalized content aggregation platform

Network devices provide, to a content source device, an uplink user interface to describe and upload video content. The network devices receive, via the uplink user interface, descriptive information for the video content and generate, based on the descriptive information received via the uplink user interface, a unique content identifier for the video content. The network devices incorporate, based on the descriptive information, a listing of the video content into a catalog of content available to users of a content distribution network. The network devices receive, from the content source device, the video content and receive, from a user device, a request to view the video content that includes the unique content identifier. A system may receive tag information, associated with media content, that includes a tag and a tag time. The system may generate, based on the tag information, clip information that includes a start time and an end time for a media content clip associated with the media content. The system may determine, based on the tag information, advertisement information that identifies an advertisement to be displayed with the media content clip, and indicates how the advertisement is to be displayed. The system may provide the tag information for display via a social media application, and may receive, via the social media application, an indication that the media content clip is to be provided for display to a user. The system may provide the advertisement information and the clip information such that the advertisement and the media content clip are provided for display to the user based on the advertisement information.

Tagging and sharing media content clips with dynamic ad insertion

A system may receive, from a content provider, metadata associated with a video asset, where the metadata includes information associated with the video asset and identifies a future time when the video asset will be available for distribution. The system may further process the metadata to create a virtual asset associated with the video asset, where the processed metadata include at least an indication that the metadata is associated with the virtual asset; publish the virtual asset to a store front that allows the user device to select the virtual asset to obtain the virtual asset; and transmit a notification or the video asset, to the user device and at the future time, based on the selection of the virtual asset by the user device, where the notification indicates that the video asset is available to be downloaded.

Creating and using a virtual video asset in a video provisioning system

A user device receives, from a network device, a content index of content items available for presentation via a content distribution network. The user device presents a user interface to configure a personalized channel plan and receives, via the user interface, user input to configure the personalized channel plan. The personalized channel plan includes a schedule of selected content items, from the content index, for presentation on a remote viewing device. The user device sends, to a remote viewing device, presentation instructions for the personalized channel plan, wherein the instructions cause the viewing device to present the selected content items to the user.

A system and method relate to a platform for distributing digital contents (digital content) to various client devices. A digital rights management platform allows a content provider to forward digital contents that is automatically ingested and processed in accordance with various requirements associated with providing the digital contents to the client devices. Information regarding the ingested digital contents may be provided to a coordinator device that uses this information to form a digital rights locker associated with the digital contents. A client device accesses the digital rights locker to obtain a rights token, or a proof of purchase, that is used to obtain rights data for accessing the digital contents.

A system may process metadata associated with video assets; generate, based on the metadata, a first listing of the video assets, where the first listing is compatible with a first type of user device that corresponds to a set top box; and provide the first listing to the first type of user device. A system may receive a video asset from a content provider. The system may process the video asset to allow a video provisioning system to distribute the video asset to a set top box and another device that is a different type of device than the set top box. Processing the video asset may include verifying that the video asset conforms to one or more predetermined formats, decrypting the video asset, verifying that the video asset complies with a particular standard of quality, or transcoding the video asset in a manner that is supported by the set top box and the other device. The system may store the transcoded video asset.

Ingesting heterogeneous video content to provide a unified video provisioning service

A system may receive an instruction to publish a video asset to a video provisioning system; retrieve profiles associated with the video asset, where a first profile may correspond to a set top box (STB) and a second profile may correspond to another device of a different type than the STB; process the video asset to create a first asset that can be published to a first device, associated with the system, based on the first profile; and process the video asset to create a second asset can be published to a second device, associated with the system, based on the second profile. The system may also publish the first asset to the first device that enables the STB to obtain the first asset from the first device; and publish the second asset to the second device that enables the other device to obtain the second asset from the second device.

Publishing ingested video content to a video provisioning system

A system and method for delivering a long-tail content comprising a set-top box configured to couple an external signal to a user device. The long-tail content server also comprises a long-tail content server configured to provide the external signal to the set-top box from a central server. The long-tail content server further comprises a long-tail content asset manager configured to control a communication between at least one of the central server, the long-tail content server and the set-top box and at least one of the central server, the long-tail content server and the set-top box.

System and method for delivering long-tail content

A system includes a media content processing subsystem and a plurality of user input devices each configured to transmit at least one command to the media content processing subsystem. Each of the user input devices also corresponds to a distinct user profile. When the media content processing subsystem receives a command from one of the user input devices, the media content processing subsystem is configured to identify the particular user input device that transmitted the command and execute the command in accordance with a user profile that corresponds to that particular user input device.
