The present invention relates to a catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxide, the catalyst comprising a first coating comprising a 12-membered ring pore zeolitic material comprising a first metal which is one or more of copper and iron, and a second coating comprising an 8-membered ring pore zeolitic material comprising a second metal which is one or more of copper and iron.

The present invention relates to a catalyst for the oxidation of hydrocarbon and the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides, the catalyst comprising a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, a substrate axial length extending from the inlet end to the outlet end and a plurality of passages defined by internal walls of the substrate extending therethrough; and a coating disposed on the surface of the internal walls of the substrate, wherein the surface de-fines the interface between the passages and the internal walls, wherein the coating comprises a platinum group metal component supported on a first oxidic material and further comprises a mixed oxide of vanadium and one or more of iron, erbium, bismuth, cerium, europium, gadolinium, holmium, lanthanum, lutetium, neodymium, praseodymium, promethium, samarium, scandium, terbium, thulium, ytterbium, yttrium, molybdenum, tungsten, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, aluminum and antimony, wherein the mixed oxide is supported on a second oxidic material.

Multifunctional catalyst for hydrocarbon oxidation and selective catalytic reduction of NOx

Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of a gasoline engine exhaust gas stream. The exhaust gas treatment systems comprise an ammonia generating catalyst and an ammonia selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst downstream of the ammonia generating catalyst. The ammonia generating catalyst comprises a NOstorage component, a refractory metal oxide support, a platinum component, and a palladium component. The ammonia generating catalyst is substantially free of ceria. The platinum and palladium components are present in a platinum to palladium ratio of greater than about 1 to 1.

Exhaust gas treatment system

A lean gasoline exhaust treatment catalyst article is provided, the article comprising a catalytic material applied on a substrate, wherein the catalytic material comprises a first composition and a second composition, wherein the first and second compositions are present in a layered or zoned configuration, the first composition comprising palladium impregnated onto a porous refractory metal oxide material and rhodium impregnated onto a porous refractory metal oxide material; and the second composition comprising platinum impregnated onto a porous refractory metal oxide material. Catalyst system for lean gasoline direct injection engines

Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of an engine exhaust gas stream containing NOx. The exhaust gas treatment system comprises an engine, a catalyst system including a selective catalytic reduction article comprising two zones, an upstream zone comprising iron-promoted first molecular sieves and a downstream zone comprising copper-promoted second molecular sieves. The catalyst system is effective to reduce high NOx levels in the exhaust gas stream. Also described are methods for treatment of engine exhaust gas streams, comprising treating engine exhaust gas streams containing high NOx levels with catalyst systems including selective catalytic reduction articles having two zones.

The present disclosure generally provides catalysts, catalyst articles and catalyst systems including such catalyst articles. In particular, the catalyst composition includes a metal ion-exchanged molecular sieve ion-exchanged with at least one additional metal, which reduces the number of metal centers often present in metal promoted zeolite catalysts. Methods of making and using the catalyst composition are also provided, as well as emission treatment systems including a catalyst article coated with the catalyst composition. The catalyst article present in such emission treatment systems is useful to catalyze the reduction of nitrogen oxides in gas exhaust in the presence of a reductant while minimizing the amount of dinitrogen oxide emission.

Ion-exchanged molecular sieve catalysts exhibiting reduced N2O emissions

Described are catalytic articles comprising a substrate having a washcoat on the substrate, the washcoat containing a catalytic component having a first average (D50) particle size and a functional binder component having a second average (D50) particle size in the range of about 10 nm to about 1000 nm, wherein the ratio of the first average (D50) particle size to the second average (D50) particle size is greater than about 10:1. The catalytic articles are useful in methods and systems to purify exhaust gas streams from an engine.

Described is a selective catalytic reduction catalyst comprising a zeolitic framework material of silicon and aluminum atoms, wherein a fraction of the silicon atoms are isomorphously substituted with a tetravalent metal. The catalyst can include a promoter metal such that the catalyst effectively promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and HO selectively over a temperature range of 150 to 650&#xb0; C. In another aspect, described is a selective catalytic reduction composite comprising an SCR catalyst material and an ammonia storage material comprising a transition metal having an oxidation state of IV. The SCR catalyst material promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and HO selectively over a temperature range of 150&#xb0; C. to 600&#xb0; C., and the SCR catalyst material is effective to store ammonia at temperatures of 400&#xb0; C. and above. A method for selectively reducing nitrogen oxides, and a method for simultaneously selectively reducing nitrogen oxide and storing ammonia are also described. Additionally, an exhaust gas treatment system is also described.

Molecular sieve catalyst compositions, catalytic composites, systems, and methods

The present disclosure is directed to SCR catalysts, methods for their manufacture, and methods of treating emissions in an exhaust stream with them. The SCR catalysts are produced from pillaring and ion exchanging synthetic phyllosilicates, particularly hydrothermally synthesized phyllosilicates.

Described is a catalyst composition suitable for use as a selective catalytic reduction catalyst, including small-pore molecular sieve particles having a pore structure and a maximum ring size of eight tetrahedral atoms and impregnated with a promoter metal, and metal oxide particles dispersed within the small-pore molecular sieve particles and external to the pore structure of the small-pore molecular sieve particles, wherein the metal oxide particles include one or more oxides of a transition metal or lanthanide of Group 3 or Group 4 of the Periodic Table. Exhaust gas treatment catalyst

Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of a gasoline engine exhaust gas stream. The exhaust gas treatment systems comprise an ammonia generating and hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst, a TWC catalyst, and an ammonia selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst downstream of the TWC catalyst. The ammonia generating and hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst comprises a refractory metal oxide support, a platinum component, and a palladium component. The ammonia generating and hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst is substantially free of ceria and substantially free of NOstorage components. The platinum and palladium components are present in a platinum to palladium ratio of greater than about 1 to 1.

Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of a gasoline engine exhaust gas stream containing NOx, particulate matter, and sulfur. The exhaust gas treatment system comprises: one or more catalytic articles selected from a three-way conversion catalyst (TWC), a lean NOx trap (LNT), and an integrated LNT-TWC; a platinum-containing catalytic article downstream from the one or more catalytic articles; and one or more selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalytic articles immediately downstream from the platinum-containing catalytic article, the one or more SCR catalytic articles including a molecular sieve. The system stabilizes the SCR catalytic article from poisoning by sulfur.

A layered catalyst composite for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions, effective to provide lean NOtrap functionality and three-way conversion functionality is described. Layered catalyst composites can comprise catalytic material on a substrate, the catalytic material comprising at least two layers. The first layer comprising rare earth oxide-high surface area refractory metal oxide particles, an alkaline earth metal supported on the rare earth oxide-high surface area refractory metal oxide particles, and at least one first platinum group metal component supported on the rare earth oxide-high surface area refractory metal oxide particles. The second layer comprising a second platinum group metal component supported on a first oxygen storage component (OSC) and/or a first refractory metal oxide support and, optionally, a third platinum group metal supported on a second refractory metal oxide support or a second oxygen storage component.
