A material debagging apparatus includes a receptacle movable between upright loading and inverted dumping positions. The receptacle defines a bagged material holding chamber with a closed bottom and an open top. A rupturing mechanism in the form of a pair of generally parallel drums having circumferential rows of teeth thereon is carried on the receptacle adjacent the closed bottom of the chamber. The rupturing mechanism is operable for rupturing a bag at least partially filled with material and disposed in the chamber with the bottom of the bag overlying the rupturing mechanism. A drive mechanism is coupled to the drums of the rupturing mechanism for transmitting rotary power thereto to cause counterrotation of the drums. A clamping device normally disposed in a clamping condition is mounted on the receptacle adjacent the open top of the chamber. The clamping device clamps and secures the top of the bag while the bottom of the bag is ruptured by the rupturing mechanism as the receptacle is moved from its loading to its dumping position thereby emptying the material from the ruptured bag.

A mechanism for removing dirt and debris from the interior of a divider member mounted on the end disc of a disc cutterbar used in a disc mower-conditioner is disclosed wherein the dividers are provided with air inlet openings to permit the introduction of air into the interior chamber of the hat-shaped divider members. Each divider member is provided with a plurality of fan blades mounted to the top plate thereof to exhaust air from within the interior chamber and create a flow of air from the air inlet openings through the interior chamber and exciting a discharge opening formed between the divider top plate and a stationary cover mounted thereabove. This flow of air cleans the interior chamber of dirt and debris. An optional filter can be utilized to reduce the amount of dirt and debris permitted to enter the interior chamber through the air inlet openings.

Self-cleaning rotor assembly

A mower-conditioner having a pair of rotatable conditioning rolls cooperable to condition severed crop material passing therebetween is disclosed wherein the bearings rotatably supporting each conditioning roll are recessed into the end of the conditioning roll. The recessed bearings are mounted within a cup-shaped housing, the conditioning roll drive shaft being affixed to a support plate recessed from the end of the conditioning roll to permit the recessed mounting of the bearings. Hexagonal bore bearings and short throated clamp yokes are utilized to eliminate the need for locking devices and minimize the overall transverse width of the mower-conditioner. Timing flanges to permit a timed intermeshing relationship between the conditioning rolls is formed as a part of the conditioning roll drive shaft.
