A cosmetic composition comprises (A) a silicone elastomer. The (A) silicone elastomer comprises the reaction product of: (a) a branched organosiloxane; (b) a crosslinking agent; and (c) a hydrosilylation catalyst. The cosmetic composition further comprises (B) a carrier fluid. A method of preparing the cosmetic composition is also disclosed.

Siloxane composition

Personal care compositions containing aminofunctional endblocked silicone polyether copolymers are disclosed. The aminofunctional endblocked silicone polyether copolymers are particularly useful in hair care formulations to provide conditioning, which includes ease of detangling, combing, pliability, smoothness, slipperiness and styling benefits.

Aminofunctional endblocked silicone polyether copolymers in personal care compositions

Silicone-polyether block copolymers are disclosed, having the average formula: RRSi(ORSi){[RO(CHO)RRSi(ORSi)]RO(CHO)RRSi)}OSiRRwherein Ris C-Chydrocarbyl; Ris C-Chydrocarbylene; Ris Ror H; Ris &#x2014;R&#x2014;NRor &#x2014;R&#x2014;NR&#x2014;R&#x2014;NR; Ris Ror R; h is 1 to 100; k is 2 to 500; m is 2 to 500; n is 0 to 30; p is 2 to 120; and q is 2 to 4. The silicone-polyether block copolymers comprise two terminal amine functionalities and may comprise varying degrees of pendent amine functionality. In a method for synthesizing linear silicone-polyether block copolymers of the above formula, a reaction mixture is formed by combining a polyether, an organosilicon component, an endblocking agent, and a catalyst. Thereupon, the reaction mixture is heated to produce a silicone-polyether block copolymer having at least one pendent amine functionality and a number-average molecular weight from 2000 to 500,000. Also disclosed are silicone-polyether block copolymers prepared according to the above method.

Reactive amine-functional silicone-polyether block copolymers

Silicone paste compositions are disclosed by combining a silicone organic elastomer gel with water or a hydrophilic solvent. The silicone paste compositions may further contain a personal or healthcare active. The silicone organic elastomer gel is prepared by reacting in a carrier fluid an organohydrogensiloxane with two polyoxyalkylenes, the first polyoxyalkylene having aliphatic unsaturation at both each molecular termini, and the second polyoxyalkylene having aliphatic unsaturation at one molecular terminal.

Silicone polyether copolymers are disclosed having the average formula E-B-[AB]-E where E is an organofunctional endblocking group, B is a diorganopolysiloxane, A is a divalent organic group comprising at least one polyether group, and n is &#x2267;1.
