One embodiment of the present invention provides a vented apparel, comprising: an outer shell; an inner liner disposed adjacent at least a portion of an inside of the outer shell; a vent through the outer shell, wherein the vent is substantially covered by a screen; a zipper on the inner liner; and an adjusting mechanism on the outer shell; wherein the adjusting mechanism is connected to the zipper in order to move the zipper between a closed position and an open position. Another embodiment of the present invention provides a vent system, comprising: a vent through an outer shell of an item incorporating the vent system, wherein the vent is substantially covered by a screen; a zipper on an inner liner of the item, wherein the inner liner is disposed adjacent at least a portion of an inside of the outer shell; and an adjusting mechanism on the outer shell; wherein the adjusting mechanism is connected to the zipper in order to move the zipper between a closed position and an open position.

Vented apparel, vent systems and associated methods

A garment for protecting at least the upper portion of the body. The garment includes a sleeveless vest to cover the torso and made of a thermally insulating and ventilated material, and a short jacket with sleeves, such as a bolero-type jacket, covering only the upper portion of the torso and made of an impermeable material.

A garment of the jacket type including an outer envelope covering the upper body of a user and provided with a closure system. The garment includes an inner carrying system constituted of an inner envelope distinct from the outer envelope and enveloping the user's upper body over at least a portion of the height of the upper body, wherein the inner envelope is fixed at its upper portion to the outer envelope, wherein the inner envelope is provided with a closure system separate from those of the outer envelope, and wherein the inner envelope includes a pocket arrangement for carrying objects. The inner envelope of the garment is fixed to the outer envelope in the area of the torso.

Jacket-type garment

An adjustment system having a configuration capable of adjusting a length of a section of a garment. The adjustment system advantageously includes at least one section of material upon which the adjustment system is incorporated. The section of material includes an attachment portion, a first portion, a second portion, and a middle portion or flap. The flap is positioned between the first portion and the second portion and the attachment portion is positioned generally adjacent to the second portion and the flap. The adjustment system includes an extensible member that extends between the first portion and the second portion, and thereby forms the flap by generally biasing the first portion and the second portion towards one another and bulging the middle portion. The adjustment system further includes an adjustment device configured to adjustably connect the flap to the attachment section, thereby providing the wearer with the ability to adjust the length of the material by defining the extend to which the flap is pulled toward the attachment section. In an alternative embodiment, the adjustment system includes a first section of material, a second section of material, an extensible member connecting the first section of material to the second section of material, a first mating member attached to the first section of material, and a second mating member attached to the second section of material, where the second mating member is configured to mate with the first mating member.

Adjustment system for a garment or other article

A jacket provided with a pocket that is internal of the jacket, but which is accessible from the exterior. The pocket is positioned on the front of the jacket, in the top portion of the sleeve. The opening of the pocket has one edge that is a part of the torso-enveloping portion, and one edge that is a part of the sleeve. The device for closing the opening is a part of the mechanism for assembling the sleeve to the torso-enveloping portion.
