A surface cleaning apparatus can include a housing adapted to move across a surface to be cleaned, an edge brush, and a brushroll driven by a brush motor. The edge brush is connectable with a drive coupling for rotating the edge brush, and is indirectly driven by the brush motor via the brushroll. In one aspect, the edge brush and drive coupling comprise a modular unit removably coupled to the housing. In another aspect, the drive coupling can include a worm and a belt.

The seat mounting structure may have a seat rib cage configured as a universal solitary mounting bracket to which at least one seat can be affixed. The edge cleaning brush can include an attachment hub connectable with a drive coupling for rotating the brush, a cleaning implement configured to contact the surface to be cleaned, and a tensioner hub applying downward force onto the cleaning implement. The present invention is an integrated control system for use with various home appliances, such as washing machine, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, and the like. In a first embodiment of the present invention, the integrated controls are incorporated into a polycarbonate clear door panel, and incorporate proximity switches and controls to provide control and operation of the applicance. The headrest support is detachably connected to the base component. The gas module is integrated between the base component and the headrest support in such a manner that in a restraining event detected by sensors, the headrest support component is released from the base component by inflating a gas bag.
