A CB antenna arrangement for use in a raised roof of a truck cab enables the CB antenna to be hidden from view while maintaining good performance. An LC circuit is mounted in the space between the headliner and the raised dielectric roof and is connected to one of the metallic pillars of the truck cab. A CB antenna is connected to the LC circuit, and is mounted to and extends along the inside surface parallel to the driver's side or the passenger's side. The LC circuit is configured to block signals outside the CB frequency range, and the metallic pillar provides a ground plane for the CB antenna.

A dipole antenna includes a circuit board with a first side and a second side, at least one dipole disposed on the circuit board comprising an upper half and a lower half, a microstrip transmission line disposed on the circuit board coupled to at least one of the upper half and lower half of the at least one dipole, and a choke element disposed on the circuit board. The choke element and the lower half of the at least one dipole form an open slot trap with a high impedance point.

The present invention provides a box-type housing for a multiplexer having a generally flat base plate, a circuit board disposed on the base plate, and at least one partition member arranged on top the circuit board to isolate components of the circuit board and to mechanically secure the circuit board to the base plate. The invention also provides a method of isolating components of a circuit board in a box-type housing for a multiplexer and a method of providing a ground connection to a base plate of a box-type housing for a multiplexer.

A power matching circuit is connected between the dipole radiator and the coupler assembly to maintain an effective balance of current distribution and impedance in conductive elements of the antenna.

A tunable antenna system includes an antenna, a tuning mechanism, and a key that relates points of adjustment in the tuning mechanism to different installations of the antenna. The antenna can be tuned for a given installation by applying the key to the antenna without specialized knowledge or equipment. The system also includes a set of tunable antennas, each being tunable within a different range of electrical lengths. The number of antennas in the set is sufficient to cover a total range of electrical lengths for a given set of installations. Fewer antennas are needed to provide a tuned antenna for each installation.
