A smart drip irrigation emitter provides intelligent features including on-demand watering, sensors and communication links. The emitters are activated by a wireless signal to power and/or control water delivery from the emitter. The emitter includes sensors that gather data pertaining to an individual plant and intelligently determines whether to water the plant. A communication network includes a network of smart emitters.

A nozzle is provided having a low precipitation rate and uniform fluid distribution to a desired arcuate span of coverage. The nozzle has an inflow port having a shape corresponding to the desired arc of coverage and a size for effecting a low precipitation rate. The nozzle also has a deflector surface with a water distribution profile including ribs for subdividing the fluid into multiple sets of fluid streams. There are at least two fluid streams for distant and close-in irrigation to provide relatively uniform distribution and coverage. The nozzle may be a unitary, one-piece, molded nozzle body including a mounting portion, an inflow port, and a deflector portion.

There is provided a smart drip irrigation emitter to provide intelligent features including on-demand watering, sensors and communication links. The emitters can be activated by a wireless signal to power and/or control water delivery from the emitter. The emitter also may include sensors that gather data pertaining to an individual plant. Based on the data received by the sensors, the emitter intelligently determines whether to water the plant. The smart emitter can form a communication network with other smart emitters.

There is provided a compact printed circuit board. The compact printed circuit board has a flexible rigid printed circuit board connector with a rigid printed circuit board attached at each end of the connector. The printed circuit board can then be folded into a compact, overlying configuration. As such, the compact printed circuit board has a smaller footprint than a standard rectangular printed circuit board, while maintaining the same or having increased micro-electronics and functionality. The compact configuration allows the folded printed circuit board to be integrated with a solenoid used in the control of a valve or sprinkler of an irrigation system.

A solenoid is provided having an improved connection arrangement. The solenoid includes external wires that are coupled to internal solenoid components via terminals. Further, a sealed solenoid is provided having a housing overmolded onto a solenoid subassembly. External wires can be coupled to the solenoid after overmolding. The solenoid may also include a cavity for receiving at least one of electrical component. The solenoid may also include a powdered metal core.

Solenoid and method of manufacture

A system for reclaiming water from moisture-laden building exhaust exiting a building through a vent is described herein, where the system can include one or more porous metal organic frameworks (MOFs) disposed downstream of the building exhaust vent for adsorbing water from the exiting moisture-laden building exhaust. The adsorped water can be desorped from the MOF, either naturally or aided by cooling the MOF. The desorped water can optionally be collected or directed elsewhere for use or collection.
