A display film includes a transparent cross-linked polyurethane acrylate layer. The transparent cross-linked polyurethane acrylate layer having a glass transition temperature of 10 degrees Celsius or less and a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater.

Polyurethane acrylate protective display film

A hardcoat composition includes one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers, and a population of semi-reactive nanoparticles dispersed within the one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers. The population of semi-reactive nanoparticles have an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm.

Flexible hardcoat

A hardcoat composition includes one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers, and a nanoparticle mixture dispersed within the one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers. The nanoparticle mixture includes a first population of semi-reactive nanoparticles having an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm, and a second population of non-reactive nanoparticles having an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm.

A hardcoat composition includes one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers, and a nanoparticle mixture dispersed within the one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers. The nanoparticle mixture includes a first population of semi-reactive nanoparticles having an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm, and a second population of reactive nanoparticles having an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm.

A hardcoat composition includes one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers, and a nanoparticle mixture dispersed within the one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers. The nanoparticle mixture includes a first population of reactive nanoparticles. The first population of reactive nanoparticles have an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm, and a second population of non-reactive nanoparticles. The second population of non-reactive nanoparticles have an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm.

A display film includes a transparent polymeric substrate layer and a transparent energy dissipation layer disposed on the transparent polymeric substrate layer. The transparent energy dissipation layer includes cross-linked polyurethane and a polyacrylate polymer. The transparent energy dissipation layer has a glass transition temperature of 27 degrees Celsius or less and a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater.

Dual cure protective display film

A display film includes a transparent glass layer having a thickness of 250 micrometers or less, or in a range from 25 to 100 micrometers. A transparent energy dissipation layer is fixed to the transparent glass layer. The transparent energy dissipation layer has a glass transition temperature of 27 degrees Celsius or less, a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater, or from 1 to 2 and a Young's Modulus (E') greater than 0.9 MPa over a temperature range of &#x2212;40 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. In a preferred embodiment, the transparent energy dissipation layer comprises a cross-linked polyurethane layer or a cross-linked polyurethane acrylate layer.

Protective display film with glass

A display film includes a transparent polymeric substrate layer having a 0.2% offset yield stress greater than 110 MPa and a transparent aliphatic cross-linked polyurethane layer having a thickness of 100 micrometers or less disposed on the transparent polymeric substrate layer. The transparent aliphatic cross-linked polyurethane layer has a glass transition temperature in a range from 11 to 27 degrees Celsius and a Tan Delta peak value in a range from 0.5 to 2.5. The display film has a haze value of 2% or less.

Thin protective display film

A display film includes a transparent cross-linked polyurethane layer. The transparent cross-linked polyurethane layer having a glass transition temperature of 10 degrees Celsius or less and a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater.

Low Tg polyurethane protective display film

A display film comprises a transparent glass layer including two or more co-planar glass layer segments and a thickness defined by a first major surface and a second major surface opposing the first major surface being less than 500 micrometers; interstitial polymer material separating adjacent segments; and transparent energy dissipation layer having a glass transition temperature of 27 degrees Celsius or less and a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater and being disposed on the first major surface.

Segmented protective display film

Surface-modified adhesives may be prepared by contacting an adhesive layer to an at least partially discontinuous layer on a releasing substrate and removing the adhesive layer such that at least a portion of the at least partially discontinuous layer adheres to the adhesive surface. The modified adhesive surface remains an adhesive surface. The modified adhesive layer can be used to prepare adhesive articles, including articles containing multiple surface-modified adhesive layers.

Surface-modified adhesives

A multilayer optical adhesive including a first viscoelastic or elastomeric adhesive layer and a second viscoelastic or elastomeric adhesive layer. A crosslinked or soluble resin layer may be disposed between the first viscoelastic or elastomeric adhesive layer and the second viscoelastic or elastomeric adhesive layer or the first viscoelastic or elastomeric adhesive layer may be immediately adjacent to the second viscoelastic or elastomeric adhesive layer. An interface between immediately adjacent layers is structured and there is a difference in refractive indices across the interface.

Multilayer optical adhesives and methods of making same

An optical article includes an optical element, a low refractive index layer disposed on the optical element having an effective refractive index of 1.3 or less and a polymeric protective layer disposed on the low refractive index layer. The low refractive index layer includes a binder, a plurality of metal oxide particles dispersed in the binder, and a plurality of interconnected voids. The polymeric protective layer does not increase an effective refractive index of the optical article by greater than 10%.

Optical element with a porous low refractive index layer having a protection layer

The present invention relates to protection films comprising an optical film suitably sized for an illuminated display device, the optical film having perimeter surface portions defining a central region. The protection film further comprises a pressure sensitive adhesive layer at the perimeter surface portions of the optical film. The optical film and/or pressure sensitive adhesive layer has been adapted such that the at least the central region of the optical film contacts the illuminated display device or the central region of the optical film is bonded to the illuminated display device by means of a self-wetting layer. The protection film may be preassembled or may be provided as a kit, the kit comprising an optical film and a double-faced pressure sensitive tape.

Protection film suitable for illuminated display devices

A transparent electrode is described and includes metallic nanowires and a polymeric overcoat layer for protecting the nanowires from corrosion and abrasion. The polymeric overcoat layer includes nanoparticles, particularly antimony tin oxide, zinc oxide and/or indium tin oxide, and has a sheet resistance of greater than about 10ohm/sq. The transparent electrode can be used in electronic displays such as polymer-dispersed liquid crystal, liquid crystal, electrophoretic, electrochromic, thermochromic, electroluminescent and plasma displays.
