An operations management system includes a processing system and a memory for storing an operations management application, which is executed by the processing system to collect resource information associated with hardware resources and virtual objects of a virtual computing environment. The system identifies, for one or more services provided by the virtual computing environment, the hardware resources and the virtual objects that execute the services, generates a tag for each resource indicating which services are executed by that resource, and stores the collected resource information for each resource and its respective tag in the memory.

A predictive order status system includes one or more processors to receive a request for a current order status of an order for a computing environment, the order having at least one task representing a segment of an order process for completing the order and the request associated with a unique order identifier, determine the current order status for the order for the computing environment, the current order status comprising a simulated percentage value that is based on an amount of elapsed time since the order was placed divided by a total order process time to complete the order, determine an exception status for the order for the computing environment, the exception status being one of on track to be completed within the total order process time to complete the order, possibly at risk for being completed within the total order process time to complete the order, and at risk for being completed within the total order process time, and send a graphical user interface representation of the current order status and the exception status.

Embodiments of a method system and computer readable media are provided. In some embodiments, a system for analyzing application environments is provided. The system includes a difference module, residing in at least one computer. The difference module is operable to extract differences between a source environment for an application and a target environment for the application. The system includes a rule-based module, residing in the at least one computer. The rule based module is operable to cooperate with the difference module in applying a plurality of rules to the differences to produce a plurality of weighted differences, each rule of the plurality of rules operable to apply a weight to an environmental difference, the weight quantifying impact, risk, or relevance, of the environmental difference to operability or failure of the application.

Rule based module for analyzing computing environments

A method and system is provided for managing virtual machine instances (VMs) and other computing and network infrastructure within a data center. A user designates a computing device or resource (whether physical or virtual) as a master automation object (e.g., a virtual machine instance may be designated as a virtual template for command replication). The user then establishes an association between the master object and a set of physical and/or virtual computing resources that should replicate a set of designated commands sent to the master object. An automation service then intercepts/observes commands sent to the master object and sends the intercepted/observed commands to each computing device linked to the master object.

Computing environment analyzer

A method and system for executing scripts on virtual machines is provided. The system includes an executor service that accepts scripts, parameters, authentication information from another process that needs to invoke a script on a target virtual machine (or group of virtual machines). The executor service remains running even after a script has completed execution. The executor service accepts any number of scripts and places them in a command queue. Agents running on the target virtual machine(s) check-in with the executor service to receive scripts from the command queue. Also, the executor service may directly invoke a script using a persistent connection to a virtual machine management center.
