A venting system and a method for installing the venting system. A non-flexible metallic venting pipe comprises a chase. A first end of the vent pipe is positioned adjacent an appliance installation and a second end positioned at an exit to an external region of a home. A flexible vent tube comprising a sealed non-corrosive material, having a first end and a second end, is positioned between the first end of the venting pipe and the second end of the venting pipe. Adapters are positioned at the ends of the venting pipe. A method comprises routing a flexible venting tube comprising sealed, corrosion resistant venting material through an existing non-flexible double-walled vent comprising non-sealed material.

Retrofitted corrosive resistant venting system

An interlocking mechanism includes an entry channel and a rotational channel positioned adjacent to entry channel. A locking bead is positioned in the rotational channel at a position in the channel defined to engage a mating element in a locking lug on a mating component when the lug is positioned adjacent to an end of the channel. The entry channel may include a face increasing in height from the entry portion to the end portion.

Exhaust system interlocking mechanism

A coupling feature for double-walled pipes. A double-walled vent pipe section has an outer wall with corresponding male and female coupling features formed on opposite ends thereof. The inner wall of the double-walled pipe section has a small ridge formed around the circumference of one end. When pipe sections are coupled together, the male and female coupling features on the outer walls engage, and the ridge on the inner wall of one pipe section engages with the bare inner wall of the other pipe section.

Gasket-less vent pipe coupling

A ceiling support box is an interface for coupling two sections of pipe as part of a venting apparatus for a heating appliance. Dual functionality is provided in a single integrated device by having a vent path for exhausting combustion by-products, and a separate air inlet path to draw in combustion air for use by the heating appliance.

An improved wall thimble as part of a venting apparatus for a heating appliance. Dual functionality is provided in a single wall thimble device by having a vent path for exhausting combustion by-products, and a separate air inlet path to draw in combustion air for use by the heating appliance. The wall thimble is preferably formed as a two-cylindrical part housing such that a first portion can be inserted into a second portion. When a smaller exhaust pipe is routed through the two-part housing, an annular region is formed between the exhaust pipe and the walls of the housing. A first air vent is formed in the first portion to draw combustion air into the annular region from outside. A second air vent is formed in the second portion to route the combustion air from the annular region out through the second air vent to be coupled with the combustion air inlet. A baffle is disposed in the first portion to preheat the combustion air. A duct assembly with an adjustable extension may be coupled to the second air vent to provide a below-grade installation.

Wall thimble with outside air inlet

A vent cap for a direct vent system. The cap may include a base plate and a semicircular outer housing secured to the base plate. A divider is coupled within the outer housing, with the divider forming in exhaust region and an inlet region. A heat shield is positioned within the semicircular outer housing in the outlet region. A direct vent pipe coupling is provided in the base plate and includes a first pipe having an outlet coupled to the divider.

Direct vent cap

A wall thimble for use with a heating appliance. Dual functionality is provided in a single wall thimble device by having a vent path for exhausting combustion by-products, and a separate air inlet path to draw in outside combustion air for use by the heating appliance. The wall thimble is formed as a two-part housing such that a first portion can be inserted into a second portion. When an exhaust pipe is routed through end plates on the housing portions, a closed region is formed between the exhaust pipe and the housing portions. A first air vent is formed in the first or outside portion to draw combustion air into the closed region from outside. A second air vent is formed in the second or inside portion to route the combustion air from the closed region to an opening in the housing where a combustion air inlet pipe is connected.

An improved wall thimble is useful as part of a venting apparatus for a direct vent heating appliance. The wall thimble is formed as a two-part housing such that a first cylindrical portion can be inserted into a second cylindrical portion. When a smaller diameter exhaust pipe is routed through the cylindrical portions, an annular region is formed between the exhaust pipe and the cylindrical portions. A first air vent is formed in the first cylindrical portion to draw combustion air into the annular region from outside. A second air vent is formed in the second cylindrical portion to route the combustion air from the annular region to an opening in the housing where a combustion air inlet pipe is connected.

An improved ultrasonic handpiece adapter for use in root canal procedures is provided in which a fire well is formed in the body of the device. The lower surface of the file well is frusto-conical in shape and receives a file wherein an enlarged file head has a frusto-conical shape at its bottom which seats against the lower surface of the file well when downward pressure is exerted on the file and which floats with respect to the lower surface of the file well when upward pressure is exerted on the file. A clutch mechanism is thereby provided wherein the file blade is in its engaged position during a cutting stroke and wherein the file blade floats during the motion of positioning the blade for the next cutting stroke. A cutting file has the tip of its shank flared so that the shank is prevented from being pulled through the file head. The apparatus may be connected to a conventional source of sub-sonic or ultrasonic power.

Handpiece for use in root canal procedures

A high pressure anesthetic syringe is provided for use in procedures such as intraligamentary anesthesia wherein a high pressure is generated by a drive mechanism to advance a piston rod in a direction to express liquid anesthesia from a glass carpule, wherein a pressure indicating mechanism is provided by including an elongated stem slidably mounted within the piston rod of the syringe and wherein pressure applied to the liquid anesthetic is indicated by relative movement between the elongated stem and the piston rod.

An endodontic file is provided for use in root canal procedures. The file has an elongated blade with cutting edges formed on the lower portion thereof and having a shank at its upper portion. A file head is provided having a passageway formed therein which receives the shank of the blade. The end of the shank is flared to prevent the shank from being drawn through the passageway in one direction. By anchoring the file blade in this manner, the use of a low profile handpiece is facilitated for ease of use in a patient's mouth.

Endodontic file

A compact anesthetic syringe is provided for injecting a medication under high pressure into a confined space. The instrument is particularly adapted for injecting a medication into the dental periodontal ligament (PDL) and may be used by any dentist without special training.

Dental instrument-PDL syringe

A threaded device is provided which can be screwed into the tooth root of a broken tooth to aid in the attachment of a crown or similar prosthesis. The threaded device has a head which is in the shape of a spherical segment of less than a hemisphere which holds a retention ring, a shim, and in some embodiments a coping dish whereby the device of the present invention can be screwed into a threaded hole in the tooth, a dental cement applied thereto and a crown or other prosthesis applied over the head of the bolt and retention ring. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the retention ring is in the form of a spherical segment which is complementary to the spherical segment of the head to provide a complete spherical head.
