Disclosed are various embodiments for a channel hitch lock. The channel hitch lock includes a first corner assembly configured to engage with a first side of a channel hitch and cover at least a portion of the channel hitch, the first corner assembly having a bottom projection configured to encapsulate a bottom recess of the channel hitch; and a second corner assembly configured to couple with the first corner assembly and together encapsulate at least an entire front portion of the channel hitch, wherein the second corner assembly is further configured to engage with a second side of the channel hitch and cover a second portion of the channel hitch, the second corner assembly having a top projection configured to encapsulate a top recess of the channel hitch.

Channel hitch lock assembly

A watercraft for reduces aquatic plant infestation by mulching or otherwise chopping plants growing on the surface of the water as the craft moves forward along a waterway. Specifically exemplified is an airboat having a hull with an intake port at the bow end of the craft whereby aquatic plant laden water enters the craft; an exhaust port whereby water and mulched aquatic plants are discharged; at least two vertically-oriented spindles having blades attached thereon, and at least one positionable and interchangeable blade assembly disposed in front of the intake port which may be raised, lowered and tilted as desired.

Water craft for reducing aquatic plant infestation

A surface mount carrier device which permits an electrical component having wire leads to be converted for surface mounting on a printed circuit board is disclosed. The carrier device comprises a body member fabricated from an electrical insulating material which includes a pair of upwardly extending, U-shaped lead supports. The lead supports define a pair of vertically opposed, symmetrical notches wherein the wire leads of the component are attached to the carrier device. In one embodiment the carrier device includes a pair of electrically conductive tabs which are secured within the notches and bent around the end faces of the carrier device and extend to a bottom surface thereof so as to provide an electrical pathway from the component to the printed circuit board whereon it will be fused. The wire leads are soldered to the conductive tabs and cut off at the end faces of the carrier device. In an alternative embodiment the conductive tabs are omitted from the carrier device in lieu of a groove formed along the longitudinal center line of the notches and extending around the end faces of the carrier to a bottom surface thereof. In this arrangement the wire leads are bent at right angles around the end faces of the carrier so as to be disposed within the groove extending to the bottom surface of the carrier to place the leads in contact with the printed circuit board. The carrier devices are provided in a range of sizes to accommodate electrical components of various configurations.

A method for winding into an electrochemical cell, a plurality of flexible strip members each having a leading end portion, including the steps of positioning a first and second arbor half to face each other but not in contact, feeding the leading end portions between the first and second arbor halves, bringing the arbor halves together to capture at least a portion of the leading end portions, rotating the first and second arbor halves to wrap the leading end portions around a first curvilinear driving surface of the first arbor half, and applying pressure with a roller to the flexible strip members during at least a portion of the time the arbor halves are rotating. An electrochemical cell having a central opening extending the length of the axis of the cell is also described.

Method of winding an electrochemical cell and cell produced by the method

A method for winding electrode assemblies useable in electrochemical cells is provided wherein first and second winding stations are provided. A first unwound electrode assembly is partially wound at the first winding station into a first partially wound electrode assembly and then transferred to the second winding station where the first partially wound electrode assembly is further wound. A second unwound electrode assembly is partially wound at the first winding station into a second partially wound electrode assembly contemporaneously with the further winding of the first partially wound electrode assembly at the second winding station.

An improved battery of the type having a spiral wound core (32) surrounded by a container (38) is disclosed in which an improved terminal tab (10-32, 44-50) is attached to the end of the core inserted into the container, the terminal tab comprising an outwardly extending tab member (24) bent back over the base (12) of the terminal tab and along the side of the core. A protrusion (46) on the base contacts the bent tab member to minimize compression by the tab member of the circumferential edge of the end of the battery core when the core has been inserted into the container. An improved method of assembling such a battery also is disclosed.

An apparatus for applying and affixing sleeves of dielectric plastic material to galvanic cells. The apparatus includes a carrousel having a cell receiving station, a sleeving station and a discharge station with a tester for testing and rejecting cells between the receiving and sleeving stations. The apparatus further includes feeding means for feeding sleeve length units from a spool supply, gripping means for gripping each fed length, while such length is cut and for opening the cut length, pusher means for pushing the cut length from the gripper onto the cell and heater means for heating and shrinking the cut length on the cell into gripping contact with such cell.

Apparatus for rapidly testing rechargeable electrochemical cells following assembly which enables the testing of cells to be carried out in a substantially uncharged condition, such apparatus including an automatically actuated probe for applying to and receiving electrical signals at the terminals of the cells as they progress on the assembly line. When extended, a central electrode on the probe engages the central cell terminal and a pair of self-aligning resiliently biased pivotal arms positively engages the rim of the cell casing, which constitutes the other cell electrode, thus establishing reliable electrical contact even in the presence of residue or other manufacturing debris on the cell.
