A Vision Thermalization, 'VT' light-to-heat transducer, versatile video transformation system, via Biophysics Resonance of forehead cells with thin film transistors infrared 'display' (1 k&#xd7;0.0015 C&#xd7;640&#xd7;480 VGA) and alternative image processing methodology thereof to convert, for the sightless and visually impaired, light waves, or TV received signals or 2D/3D video camera signals into infrared patterns of sensible heat waves such as produced by the product of voltage and current in an active matrix of thin film transistors (AM-TFT), typically used with liquid crystal displays, in order to exploit the viper-like thermal vision sensibility of 10 parts/million (0.003 C/305K) and biophysics resonance of thermo regulating amino acids.

Versatile video transformation device

A versatile video transformation device and adaptive image processing methodology thereof to digitally scan convert, that is, reformat TV raster scan video and particularly high definition (HD) and/or digital DTV (particularly those for example in 1920.times.1080i or 1280.times.720p format) video data and associated synchronizing signals, for the purpose of making present standard television sets compatible at low cost with the latest advancements in free HD whilst allowing a multitude of other DTV programs and ancillary data to fill to a greater extent the remaining channel allocations by FCC to TV broadcasters.

An image processing system with a quality assurance feature is disclosed for determining the quality of the images being processed. The system includes a plurality of sections operating independently and concurrently to insure reliability. One section includes calculation of a quality assurance parameter dependent on the fill factor and the compression ratio determined before and after compression respectively. A second section includes histogram hardware for generating qualified histograms representative of foreground data, and background data transitions and a comparator for detecting overlap therebetween. A third section develops a histogram parameter based on the areas of the histograms and compares this parameter to the quality assurance parameter for concurrence. The system also includes autosizing means for detecting the borders of an image using fuzzy logic.

Automated quality assurance image processing system

An omnidirectional, multispectral and multimodal sensor/display processor for the screening, examination, detection, and diagnosis of breast cancer. Its capabilities are accomplished through stable vision fusion of the Doppler-like differences of selective radiologic wavelengths, besides X-ray mammograms, e.g., ultraviolet (UV.), visible and infrared (IR), with-vision-computer discrimination of other active and passive observables of electromagnetic fields, and medical data, including the optimum color ratios and 3-dimensional (3D) transformation of multiple imaging modalities, e.g., ultrasound, nuclear computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), etc., to obtain the 'concurrence of evidence' necessary for maximum confidence levels, generated at minimal cost and with minimum false positives, at the earliest possible breast cancer detection point.

Omnispectramammography

A portable and adjustable cutting guide especially designed to minimize chipping of the cut edges on cuts made cross-grain on doors, panels or the like when utilizing a circular saw, a jig saw or a router. The device includes a thin, rigid, preferably plastic, rectangular plate having one long, perfectly straight edge defining a cutting guide line and a slightly raised surface member extending parallel with but spaced from the edge defining the cutting guide line, the raised surface member functioning as an edge stop for the platform of the saw being used with the guide. Preferably the plate is provided with at least one clamp on the opposite side thereof from the edge defining the cutting guide line to permit securing of the plate to the work piece so that it presses down on the surface being cut to minimize chipping thereof. The cutting guide device may also be supplied with a power supply box to facilitate use of the cutting saw and, if desired, with a work light to illuminate the cutting area.

A large area retractable display screen for displaying video and/or color graphic images through the use of phosphorescent triad arrays being selectively activated by a limiting electric field controlled thereacross by an active matrix of fault-tolerant transistors and multiplexed front electrodes produced and supported on a flexible substrate.

A system for providing a visual color display of multi-spectral and/or multi-sensor data particularly that provided by a trichroic infrared scanning system, which includes the assignment of visible color signals to such data in a manner to maximize color discrimination of the viewer and allows the use of a conventional color display, particularly a CRT, to produce a real time color picture of the image that the data represents.

Omnispectravision

A cathode ray tube display system for displaying data and/or pictorial images in an undistorted manner over the entire display screen. Programmable video polarity circuits add versatility to the system, enabling the cathode ray tube to be driven by any one of a variety of different drive circuits and effectively eliminating any skewing or delay experienced by the control signals as a result of the particular drive circuitry employed. Versatile deflection of the cathode ray tube electron beam at low power levels is achieved through the use of deflection circuitry employing a feedback circuit for achieving linearity and a totem pole circuit employing a coupling diode for achieving rapid, automatic flyback during the retrace portion of the deflection cycle. Automatic sizing of the display generated by the cathode ray tube (CRT) is obtained regardless of changes in the operating frequency of the horizontal and vertical sync signals employed to control the cathode ray tube. The sizing circuitry employs solid-state timer circuits, preferably of the integrated circuit type, which generate the necessary horizontal and vertical sweep circuits regardless of frequency changes experienced by the input sync signals. A comparison circuit for use with the sizing circuit utilizes the logarithmic characteristics of semiconductor devices to provide a simple inexpensive circuit for comparing the peak level of a first sawtooth against a reference level for automatically adjusting the slope of an output sawtooth deflection signal, in accordance with the peak voltage of the input sawtooth, whose frequency is a function of the sync signals. A distortion-free display over the entire CRT display screen is obtained through the use of a dynamic focus circuit which developes a dynamic focusing voltage for the cathode ray tube which is derived from the horizontal and deflection voltage sawtooth signals and is independent of the TV timing signal. The dynamic focus circuit employs low cost and yet reliable semiconductor devices. The circuitry for developing the dynamic focusing voltage includes amplifier circuits which produce differential outputs which are independently adjustable to properly focus the beam trace and thereby assure the generation of a distortion-free display. An inverted or noninverted display may be selected in a simplified manner through the employment of the aforementioned programmable video circuits which enable the CRT to be driven by any one of a variety of different combinations of control circuitry without introducing skewing or delay problems.

A system for providing a visual color display of multi-spectral and/or multi-sensor data, particularly that provided by a trichroic infrared scanning system, which includes the assignment of visible color signals to such data in a manner to maximize color discrimination of the viewer and allows the use of a conventional color display, particularly a CRT, to produce a real time color picture of the image that the data represents.

A device for providing scan conversion, integration and parallel to serial conversion in one modular element which comprises an array of infrared detectors, amplifiers and LEDs, with said LEDs optically coupled to a CCD sensor which provides an output which may be utilized for image reconstruction. A feed back gain channel connected to the output of said sensor serves to provide a reference which controls the steady state amplitude of all the LEDs thereby stabilizing the LED array.

LED/CCD Multiplexer and infrared image converter

A spectrometer for use with optical elements which pass both undispersed and dispersed irradiation onto detectors coupled to a transversal filter and a comparitor means which open gates said filter to receive dispersed signals when an initial undispersed threshold is exceeded, thereafter said comparitor inhibits signals exceeding the undispersed threshold during spectral analysis of the dispersed signals.
