Systems and methods of monitoring battery health in an HVAC system. The charge state of a rechargeable battery and the number of amp-hours provided to or from the rechargeable battery are monitored. The number of amp-hours provided is recorded and an end-of-life condition is detected based on the number of amp-hours provided during the charge or discharge cycle. In some constructions, the end-of-life condition is detected by comparing the number of amp-hours provided during the charge or discharge cycle to a threshold. In some constructions, the end-of-life condition is detected by calculating a rate of change of the number of amp-hours provided during a charge or discharge cycle and comparing the rate of change to a threshold.

Monitoring battery health in an HVAC system

An exhaust system for use with a diesel engine includes a diesel particulate filter configured to capture particulate matter exhausted from the diesel engine, a first sensor operable to detect a particulate matter accumulation level within the diesel particulate filter, and a second sensor operable to detect an ambient temperature of an environment surrounding the diesel particulate filter. The exhaust system also includes a control module electrically coupled to the first sensor, the second sensor, and the diesel particulate filter. The control module is operable to adjust a first regeneration threshold based on the detected ambient temperature. The control module is also operable to initiate regeneration of the diesel particulate filter when the detected particulate matter accumulation level reaches the first regeneration threshold.

System and method to regenerate a diesel particulate filter

A cryogenic temperature control apparatus comprises a storage tank housing a quantity of cryogenic fluid, a housing defining a conditioned space, and a heat exchanger in thermal communication with the conditioned space. A first flow path fluidly connects the storage tank and the heat exchanger. A first valve is positioned along the first flow path to selectively fluidly seal the first flow path between the storage tank and the heat exchanger. A second flow path fluidly connects the storage tank and the heat exchanger. A second valve is positioned along the second flow path to selectively fluidly seal the second flow path between the storage tank and the heat exchanger.

Cryogenic temperature control apparatus and method

A transport temperature control apparatus includes a refrigeration circuit and a heat exchanger having an air inlet and an air outlet in fluid communication with a conditioned space. An evaporator coil extends through the heat exchanger between the inlet and air outlet and is fluidly connected to the refrigeration circuit. A divider defines a first portion of the evaporator coil and a second portion of the evaporator coil. A first fan is housed in the heat exchanger and is adjacent the first portion. The first fan has a first operating condition for directing air across the evaporator coil in a first direction and a first non-operating condition. A second fan is housed in the heat exchanger and is adjacent the second portion. The second fan has a second operating condition for directing air across the evaporator coil in a second direction and a second non-operating condition.

Method and apparatus for moving air through a heat exchanger

A temperature control system having an increased heating performance. The system includes a compressor adapted to compress a fluid, a heat exchanger coupled to the compressor such that compressed fluid moves from the compressor to the heat exchanger, and a pressure regulating valve positioned between the compressor and the heat exchanger such that compressed fluid from the compressor moves through the valve before reaching the heat exchanger. The pressure-regulating valve is designed to stay in a closed position until the pressure of the fluid from the compressor reaches a desired value. By virtue of this design, the pressure of the fluid in increased, thus resulting in an increased in the temperature of the fluid. Upon reaching the desired pressure, the valve opens to allow the highly-pressurized fluid to flow to the heat exchanger.
