A module for manually converting a Harp System Lamp having single female Edison up-socket to a multi-function LED lighting system, the rapid conversion not requiring any modification of the wiring of the conventional lamp and not requiring the use of tools or any special skills, providing significantly more light for the same or less power, providing greater control over the amount and quality of light available, and preserving the aesthetics of the original lamp by retaining the original body, harp and shade. The module expands the area under the shade from which light may be emitted to include space radially outside the harp thus increasing the flexibility as to both the direction and the wavelengths of the light provided by the converted lamp. Methods of making the conversion are disclosed some of which do not require removal of the harp from the lamp being converted.

Method and module for converting a harp system portable lamp to a multi-function LED lighting system

An adaptor for manually converting a conventional portable lamp with a harp supported shade from (a) a single Edison up-socket adapted to receive an Edison-based, base-down, incandescent, compact florescent or LED light bulb to (b) a plural down-socket LED lighting system with materially increased task lighting, where the rapid conversion does not require the use of tools or any special skills, does not require any modification of the wiring of the conventional lamp, and does not change the aesthetics of the lamp. Methods of making the conversion are disclosed that do and do not require the removal of the harp during the conversion.

An air sterilization apparatus for sterilizing air that can include a fan assembly, which may be mounted in an upper-part of a room, and a UVC lamp to emit a UVGI field. The air sterilization apparatus may direct air across the UVGI field to sterilize the air. A baffle may also be provided to shield the eyes of occupants of the room from UVC energy contained in the UVGI field. The air sterilization apparatus may also include an illuminator lamp to provide illumination to a room.

The present invention provides an air treatment unit including a module power socket; an air treatment duct having an interior defining an air path; and an ultraviolet light module that selectively engages the air treatment duct, the ultraviolet light module including a housing having a baffle; an integral ultraviolet light source and light source socket, the ultraviolet light source being fixed to and extending through the baffle; and a connector that selectively mates with the module power socket, the connector being in power transmissive communication with the light source socket, wherein, when the ultraviolet light module selectively engages the air treatment duct and the connector selectively mates with the module power socket, the ultraviolet light module cannot be fully removed from its engagement with the air treatment duct without disconnecting the power.

A shade holder is provided for use with table and floor lamps having separately ballasted non-incandescent lamps. The shade holder includes the combination of a saddle and harp, the saddle having a central base element with spacer members extending angularly from opposite ends thereof. The harp is generally elliptical or oval in shape and is received by the saddle at ends of the angularly extending spacer members. The resultant shade holder provides for receipt of a disk-like or cylindrical ballast adjacent the saddle, with the ballast receiving an appropriate non-incandescent lamp, such as a high intensity discharge, inductive or compact fluorescent lamp. The saddle and harp are configured with appropriate angles and bends to accomodate both the ballast and the lamps while providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

The present invention is a combination metal halide and auxiliary light bulb floor or table lamp which is suitable for home or office illumination. The lamp includes a lampholder module which provides a unitary housing for the bulb sockets and the electrical components required to operate the bulbs. The module also positions each bulb relative to the others to minimize shadowing which results when a bulb casts a shadow due to the light emanating from another bulb.

Metal halide table and floor lamps and method of manufacture. A lamp base module housing a power supply, ballast, and illumination controls separate from a metal halide bulb with the metal halide bulb housed within the base or a luminaire module. Lamp modules of various size and appearance may be manufactured separately and easily assembled by those of but ordinary skill.
