A latch mechanism for the trap door of a combine stone detector is disclosed wherein the latch mechanism is operable to release the trap door for ejection of a stone or other non-crop foreign matter from the feed path of the crop being harvested when the foreign matter is detected either electronically or mechanically. A release mechanism is provided to unlatch the trap door when a pinch roller forces foreign matter downwardly against the trap door. A trip mechanism is operatively connected with the release mechanism to unlatch the trap door when a signal is received from the electronic detection mechanism.

Latch mechanism for combine having electronic and mechanical stone

Means to tend to dislodge extraneous material from a screen mounted adjacent a cooling radiator for an internal combustion engine such as employed in a grain harvesting combine which develops chaff and dust normally tending to clog said screen, said means comprising one or a plurality of blades extending radially from a cylindrical screen supported for rotation adjacent said cooling radiator and driven by auxiliary means derived from said internal combustion engine.

A mobile combine having longitudinally extending rotor and concave threshing members and a reciprocating grain pan beneath said concave to receive threshed and partially threshed crop products for passage to sieve mechanism, and angular deflector members fixed to and reciprocable with said grain pan and extending longitudinally therewith, said members extending downward and inward from opposite sides of the chamber below said concave and above said grain pan to deflect grain falling from said concave and direct it toward the center of said grain pan to prevent crop material from gravitating more to one side of said grain pan than the other such as during hillside harvesting operations.

Grain distribution means for rotary combine

An axial flow combine is provided with substantially horizontal rotor units which co-act with concaves that are complementary to the lower portions of said rotor units and are parallel thereto. The front end of the concaves normally are supported by bracket members which are not readily disconnectable from the front end of said concaves. The present invention includes brackets which are readily disconnectable from the front end of said concaves and a support therefor, whereby the concaves may be readily removed from the forward end of the threshing and separating chamber under circumstances where replacement or interchange of the concaves are desired.
