A process for filtering a liquid stream from a fixed bed reaction zone in order to remove catalyst fines contained in the stream. The effluent stream is passed to a filtering section which may contain at least two filtering vessels. Each filtering vessel includes at least two differently filtering sections, each section designed to collect differently sized particles. If a pressure drop occurs in one of the filtering vessels, it may be taken offline to remove the filtering sections and recover the metal in the particles collected on the filtering sections. The other filtering vessel can remain online to allow the filtering process to be continuous. Metal on the catalyst fines may be recovered.

Process for removing catalyst fines from a liquid stream from a fixed bed reactor

A styrene process is disclosed that uses a dehydrogenation reactor and a transalkylation reactor and in which a significant portion of the benzene, the inhibitors, or both, recovered from the dehydrogenation reactor passes to the transalkylation reactor. The process disclosed herein can also use an alkylation reactor and can increase the run length of the alkylation catalyst.

Styrene process with recycle from dehydrogenation zone

A processing step is added to an existing catalytic reforming unit to increase the yield of aromatic product. The additional processing comprises separation of product from the reforming unit into an aromatic concentrate and a low-octane recycle stream which is upgraded by aromatization. The separation preferably is effected using a large-pore molecular sieve, and the aromatization with a nonacidic L-zeolite contained within the hydrogen circuit of the existing catalytic reforming unit.
