An arrangement for providing lubrication to the outer bearing of a wheel hub having inner and outer bearing assemblies from an internal annular lubricant reservoir in the wheel hub housing. A lubricant carrying tube positioned within the wheel hub housing has an inlet which receives lubricant from the reservoir and an outlet directed toward the outer bearing. Lubricant flows through the tube and is supplied to the outer bearing assembly as the wheel rotates.

A telescoping drawbar is provided to insure a variable length connection between a pulled trailer and a tandem connected trailer supported on a portable dolly. The telescoping drawbar includes a number of telescoped tube segments which are aligned and secured with interlocking wedges, plates and mating stops located on the surfaces of overlapping telescoping sections. The wedge-shaped plates and associated stops securely interlock the telescoping sections and accurately align locking openings for insertion of locking bolts.

A light weight motor vehicle bumper including a box beam with stress reducing plates affixed within the beam at the central portions of the inner and outer walls of the beam. The stress plates each include a central portion of relatively constant cross-section and end portions of decreasing cross-section which effectively channel and distribute impact loads throughout the beam structure.

A flatrack container for container loads has a pair of bulkhead assemblies at either end of a load platform, with each of the bulkhead assemblies including a telescoping assembly carrying stacking and lifting fittings being vertically adjustable so that the fittings can be positioned at any desired vertical position. One of the bulkhead assemblies is pivotally mounted so that it may be swung to the ground to serve as a drive-on ramp to aid in loading the container.

Flatrack container

A cargo transporting device comprises a flat deck container having at opposite ends upwardly extending partial walls cooperating with hinged bulkheads which in an upright position provide continuous vertical walls at the ends of the platform. The hinged bulkheads are movable to stored positions on the deck of the device wherein the low height walls provide supports for stacking a plurality of the same type of container or device. The deck or platform of the containers are provided with a plurality of twist lock assemblies which are movable from operative positions locking containers on the platform to stored positions below the deck.

Cargo transportation device

A rollaway decking system for use in transport vehicles, e.g., truck trailers or shipping containers, includes a pair of tracks mounted on opposite side walls of the vehicle and a rollaway deck extending between the tracks. The deck has a plurality of articulated panels arranged in and edge to edge relationship with each adjacent pair of panels including an integral, hinge-like linking arrangement extending across the adjacent edges of the panels for pivotally connecting the panels together. Each track includes a support extending underneath the deck for engaging the underside of the deck under heavy load conditions. The deck includes a plurality of deck sections which can be used together or individually to accomodate various loads.

Roll away decking system

An arrangement for handling containers particularly for aircraft includes a chassis adapter frame which is connected to the chassis of a highway trailer by means of twist locks. The adapter frame also includes twist lock assemblies which are adapted to engage the base of cargo containers whereby the adapter frame may be selectively removed from the container if desired. The arrangement includes loading and conveying arrangements which are particularly suited for transporting the container with the adapter frame connected thereto or with the same removed.

A cap for a hollow stake of a highway cargo vehicle having a tarpaulin roof supported above the cargo bed of the vehicle by a plurality of stakes. The cap encloses the top of the stake to protect its interior from the elements and includes a fastening means which extends downwardly and is couplable with the inner portions of the hollow stake. The cap is provided with a bow socket portion which cooperates with a stake bow socket portion provided in the interior of the post to form a bow receiving socket for receiving a bow extending through the protector cap into the hollow stake.

A vapor recovery system for a tank vehicle in which longitudinally extending hollow overturn rails are integrated with the tank, said rails providing preferably a plurality of separate passages which are connected to the tank vents and serve as collectors of volatile vapors emanating from fluids carried in the tank. The passages are connected to individual or to a central vapor collection piping which extends downwardly preferably over the side of the tank or the rear head. The piping terminates in a valve or fitting. Individual piping is used when different liquids are carried in several compartments.
