A system includes a first most probable cause (MPC) module, a second MPC module, and an integrated MPC module. The first MPC module is configured to determine a first most probable cause of an issue on a vehicle based on at least one service procedure for the vehicle. The second MPC module is configured to determine a second most probable cause of the issue based on repair data for other vehicles. The integrated MPC module is configured to determine an integrated most probable cause of the issue based on the first and second most probable causes.

Methods and systems are provided for analyzing a fault in a communication system. The system includes a diagnostic module. The diagnostic module has first through fifth control logics. The first control logic is configured to determine a topology of the communication system. The second control logic is configured to request a response from at least one module that is in electronic communication with the communication system. The third control logic is configured to receive the response. The fourth control logic is configured to analyze a characteristic of the response. The fifth control logic is configured to determine a characteristic of the fault based on the characteristic of the response.

A method for initiating a service session with a vehicle includes the steps of receiving a first wireless signal transmitted by the vehicle, establishing an identity of the vehicle from the first wireless signal, associating a privilege with the vehicle based at least in part on the identity, transmitting a second wireless signal to the vehicle with a request for service data of the vehicle if the privilege includes an ability to request the service data from the vehicle, and receiving the service data of the vehicle.
