This disclosure relates to N-substituted benzothiazolines and N-substituted benzoxazolines which are useful as plant growth regulants. This disclosure further relates to plant growth regulant compositions containing such N-substituted benzothiazolines and N-substituted benzoxazolines and to methods of regulating the growth of leguminous plants employing such compounds and compositions.

N-substituted benzothiazoline and N-substituted benzoxazoline derivatives

This disclosure relates to 3-substituted aminoalkyl-2-benzothiazolinones which are useful as plant growth regulants. More specifically, this disclosure relates to 3-substituted aminoalkyl-2-benzothiazolinones and compositions containing said compounds and to the use of said compounds and compositions to regulate the growth of leguminous plants such as soybeans.

3-Substituted aminoalkyl-2-benzothiazolinones

The invention relates to compounds having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is equal to hydrogen, halogen or alkyl containing 1-5 carbon atoms; X is equal to oxygen, sulfur or --NH; n is equal to the integer 1 to 6; with the proviso when X is --NH, n may not equal 6. These compounds are useful in regulating the growth of leguminous plants.

Benzthiazolyl-2-thioalkanoic nitriles

The present invention relates to compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein: T is hydrogen, lower alkyl, halo, --CF.sub.3, --CN or --NO.sub.2 ; x is 1 or 2; n is 1 or 2; m is zero or 1; when m is 1, R is hydrogen, lower alkyl, halo (lower) alkyl, lower alkenyl, halo (lower) alkenyl, benzyl, phenyl, carbamoyl (lower) alkyl, cyano (lower) alkyl or agriculturally acceptable salts; when m is zero, R is ##STR2## R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently equal hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkoxy (lower) alkyl or phenyl; R.sub.3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; a is 4, 5 or 6.

N-Substituted thioxobenzothiazolines

The present invention relates to the use of compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is C.sub.1-5 alkyl, C.sub.2-5 alkenyl, C.sub.2-5 alkynyl, haloalkyl, phenyl or phenyl substituted by one or two halogen, C.sub.1-5 alkyl, C.sub.1-5 alkoxy or haloalkyl moieties; T is equal to C.sub.1-5 alkyl, C.sub.1-5 alkoxy, halogen, or haloalkyl in a method of regulating plant growth, especially leguminous plant growth, as well as to plant growth regulant compositions.

N-Substituted-oxobenzothiazoline derivatives useful as plant growth

The present invention relates to compounds represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R represents an alkyl radical having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and X and Y represent oxygen or sulfur, and T represents a radical selected from hydrogen and C.sub.1-3 alkoxy. Those compounds have been found useful in a method for regulating plant growth and in plant growth regulant compositions.
