A machine produces foam-in-bag from foam precursors mixed within the bag. The machine comprises a base and a shell. The base and shell are moveable relative each other between a base/shell disengaged position and a base/shell engaged position. In the base/shell engaged position, the base and shell divide the bag so that a mixing chamber is isolated from the remainder portion of the bag. First and second nozzles inject foam precursors into the mixing chamber. A mixer engages the mixing chamber to provide mixing energy to facilitate the foam reaction.

One aspect of the invention pertains to a device for mixing and dispensing fluids, which generally includes a housing; a mixing chamber having a first inlet for introducing a first fluid into the mixing chamber, a second inlet for introducing a second fluid into the mixing chamber, and an outlet through which fluid may exit the mixing chamber; and a valving rod received within the mixing chamber and movable between an open position, in which the first and second inlets are in fluid communication with the mixing chamber, a cleaning position, in which the valving rod substantially seals closed the first inlet but does not seal closed the second inlet, and a closed position, in which the valving rod substantially seals closed the first and second inlets.

A single crystal nickel base superalloy consists essentially of, in weight %, about 6.4% to about 6.8% Cr, about 9.3% to about 10.0% Co, above 6.7% to about 8.5% Ta, about 5.45% to about 5.75% Al, about 6.2% to about 6.6% W, about 0.5% to about 0.7% Mo, about 0.8% to about 1.2% Ti, about 2.8% to about 3.2% Re, up to about 0.12% Hf, about 0.01% to about 0.08% by weight C, up to about 0.10% B, and balance Ni and incidental impurities. The superalloy provides improved alloy cleanliness and castability while providing improved high temperature mechanical properties such as stress rupture life.

A document distribution system transfers a document from a source computer to a destination computer in the form of a print file. The print file defines the appearance of the document in a code suitable for telling a printer how to print the document. The source computer executes 'license stamper' software for embedding an encoded license stamp into the print file before it is sent to the destination computer. Viewer software executed by the source computer receives and parses the print file to determine whether it contains the license stamp. If so, the viewer may generate a video display of the document defined by the print file or may print the document by sending the print file to a printer. However if the viewer receives a print file not containing the embedded license stamp, the viewer refrains from displaying or printing the document.

A method comprises pulling a continuous web to advance the web along a path of conveyance and to create tension in a lengthwise portion of the web; manipulating the web to cause the portion of the web at a point along the path to have a non-uniform tension across the width of the web, with a maximum tension being at a location spaced from the first longitudinal edge of the web, and with the tension decreasing from such location toward the first longitudinal edge of the web such that a zone in the web at the first longitudinal edge has reduced tension; and controlling transverse positioning of the first longitudinal edge in the zone of reduced tension. The reduced-tension zone is produced by a tension-reducing member about which the web is pulled.

Apparatus and method for controlling position of an edge of an advancing web of flexible material

A ceramic core for use in casting an article such as for example an airfoil, wherein the ceramic core has a pocket located at or near a region of the core that is otherwise associated with occurrence of a localized casting defect in the cast article. A preweld heat treatment for precipitation hardenable IN939 nickel base superalloy having a gamma matrix and gamma prime strengthening phase dispersed in the matrix comprises heating the nickel base superalloy at about 2120 degrees F. for a time to solution gamma prime phase followed by slow cooling to below about 1450 degrees F. at a rate of about 1 degree F./minute or less, and cooling to room temperature. The preweld heat treatment eliminates strain age cracking at base metal weld heat-affected zone upon subsequent heat treatment to develop alloy mechanical properties.

A reinforced core for use in metal casting processes, especially directional solidification casting processes, comprises an elongated, thin-walled outer quartz or silica rich tubular member and a carbon base reinforcement disposed in and extending along a length of the tubular member. The carbon base reinforcement can comprise one or more graphite rods cemented together in end-to-end relation or a carbon fiber bundle. The carbon base reinforcement can include an outer carbide surface region by coating or surface reaction.
