The present invention is directed to a metal locking tie and a metal locking tie tool. The metal locking tie has a tie body, a tie head secured to the tie body, and a roller means disposed in the tie head. The tie head has a bottom, a ceiling, opposing sides, a strap entrance end and a strap exit end that define a strap receiving passageway therethrough. The tie head also includes an angled tool bearing surface at the strap exit end. The metal locking tie tool includes a cutter cap with a cutter and a ball setter. Once the metal locking tie tool has tensioned the metal locking tie, the cutter moves linearly with respect to the cutter cap to set the roller means in the tie head and to provide a flush cut off of the excess tie body from the metal locking tie.

Retained tension metal locking tie and pneumatic hand tool

A buckle for fastening opposing ends of an object encircling strap is provided. The buckle includes a deformable retainer and a bridge. The deformable retainer defines an entrance passageway for a free end of the strap and includes a retainer tab, an opening adjacent the retainer tab, and a pair of strapping supports spaced apart from the opening. The bridge defines an exit passageway for the free end of the strap. The free end of the strap is positionable around an object and consecutively through the entrance passageway and the exit passageway. The free end of the strap is bendable over the bridge and between the strapping supports and the opening such that the free end of the strap curls when the retainer is deformed.

A cable tie with a reduced band thread force is disclosed, comprising an elongate metallic strap, a metallic locking head and a metallic roller means. In one embodiment, the metallic locking head comprising a strap entry notch. In another embodiment, the metallic locking head comprises a strap entry notch and a strap exit notch. In operation, the configuration of the notches, singularly or in tandem, serve to reduce the band thread force in the elongate metallic strap when the elongate metallic strap is inserted into the metallic locking head a second (and subsequent) time.

A cable tie is disclosed. The cable tie comprises an elongate metallic strap, a metallic locking head, first and second metallic roller means and first, second and third protuberances. In operation, the combination of the roller means and the protuberances serves to increase the retained tension in the elongate strap.

Retained tension multiple ball lock cable tie

A metal locking tie formed from a locking head and an elongate strap extending through the locking head. The locking head is defined by a top wall, a bottom wall and two sides. The locking head includes a strap passageway that extends through the locking head from an entrance end to an exit end. The bottom wall of the locking head has a tab that extends upwardly toward the strap passageway in the locking head. The strap has a first end, a second end, and an aperture therethrough. When the strap is positioned within the locking head the upwardly extending tab of the locking head engages the aperture in the strap. A metal locking tie tool secures the strap to the locking head by displacing a portion of the strap in the locking head.

A buckle achieves improved strap tensile strength by providing a bridge portion, about which a free end of a buckle strap is wrapped in tension, with an inwardly projecting concave surface to create a greater deformation of the strap under tension. The buckle also includes at least one strengthening cross rib on the bridge portion and a strap receiving inset with a concave shaped pocket to improve the strap tensile strength. Furthermore, the buckle includes a bendable retainer element with an inwardly directed clamping tab near its free moving end to retain a portion of the strap within the buckle.

An identification labeling system having a faceplate with a recess and a label cover that may be retained within the recess. The label cover may have compartments for retaining identification labels. The label cover has latching legs and the recess has a complementary retention ledge. A lift slot may be provided to facilitate removal of the label cover. The recess may contain holes to accommodate individual molded identification icons. The recess may include tapered corners to accommodate strip labels of different widths and lengths, such labels being positioned by the tapered corners of the recess and the label cover. The recess includes end configurations that prevent a label from passing through the surface of the faceplate. The label cover has a thickness so as to be flush with the faceplate. The label may be the same color as the faceplate.

A metal cable tie is disclosed. The cable tie includes an elongate metallic strap, a metallic locking head, and metallic roller means. The strap has a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The head is secured to the first end of the strap for receiving the second end of the strap. The head comprises a strap entry face, a strap exit face, and a strap-receiving aperture extending therebetween. The head further comprises a floor and a roof which diverge in the direction of the exit face. The metallic roller means lockingly engages the strap, and the head comprises retention means disposed adjacent the exit face for captively holding the roller means within the head. The roller means is movable between a threading position wherein the roller means is disposed adjacent the exit face and the retention means, and a locking position wherein the roller means is closer the entry face. The ratio of the distance from a point along a ceiling to the center of the roller means in the threading position to the diameter of the roller means is less than 1.7.

The present invention is directed to a latch and guide rail arrangement that facilitates the insertion and removal of a module into and from a cable management system. This arrangement includes a latch arm assembly provided on a module and a guide rail assembly provided within an enclosure. As the module is inserted into the enclosure, the latch arms of the latch arm assembly mate with the guides of the guide rail assembly to lockingly engage the module with the enclosure. To remove the module from the enclosure, the latch arms are acted upon to release the arms from their mating relationship with the guides. With the present invention, modules can be replaced with great ease. Further, because the latch assembly is provided within the module itself, the latch assembly does not take up valuable space in the horizontal and vertical directions within the enclosure. As a result, the space within the enclosure can be fully utilized to accommodate the greatest number of connectors.
