A system and a method for transferring cryogenic fluids (LNG) between a first LNG storage tank and a second LNG storage tank wherein the transfer system includes a means for cooling the transfer lines when the system is not in use. The system has two transfer lines which extend between the tanks and which are fluidly connected together to form a closed loop when the system is not in use. LNG is circulated at high pressure through the closed loop during idle intervals to keep the lines at a temperature at which LNG will remain in a single phase, i.e. liquid.

System and method for transferring cryogenic fluids

A method for reducing signal degradation in a foam covered hydrophone used in seismic marine streamers. Said method comprises purging the foam streamer body with a fluid which is at least partially miscible with an oil used to fill said foam body. Thereafter, said foam body is filled with oil by gravity-assistance. Said method substantially removes air trapped in said foam body thereby reducing said signal degradation. Fluids, which can be utilized include butane, carbon dioxide, and fluorocarbons.

Oil fill procedure for seismic marine streamer

Oil is recovered from a subterranean oil-containing formation by fracturing the formation around the injection well and thereafter injecting a CO.sub.2 foam or a mixture of steam and a CO.sub.2 foam into the injection well to displace mobilized oil toward a production well for recovery.
