An electronic circuit card (4) is matable with a connector (3). The connector (3) comprises a terminal block (4) having terminals (22) connected to conductors (24) of a circuit board (26). First opto-electrical interface modules (15) encapsulated into the block (4), cooperate with second opto-electrical interface modules encapsulated into the leading margin (42) of the card (4) to connect the circuit (40) of the board (4) to the conductors (24) of the circuit board (26), when the card (4) has been mated with the connector (3).

Opto-electrical connecting means

A connector for a fiber optic member comprises a ferrule member in which is positioned an insert having rods surrounding a section of an exposed end of the fiber optic member, the exposed end extending along a front bore of the ferrule member. A crimping ferrule on the ferrule member is controllably crimped thereon thereby moving the rods into mechanical engagement with the fiber optic member with no or minimum deformation to the fiber optic member and securing the fiber optic member in the ferrule member. The method of terminating the fiber optic member includes surrounding the exposed end section with protective viscous material to protect the exposed end section from moisture and from becoming brittle, such as by filling the ferrule bore and the insert with the viscous material prior to inserting the fiber end thereinto.

Termination of a fiber optic transmission member and method therefore

A connector for a fiber optic member comprises a ferrule member in which is positioned an insert having rods surrounding a section of an exposed end of the fiber optic member, the exposed end extending along a front bore of the ferrule member. A crimping ferrule on the ferrule member is controllably crimped thereon thereby moving the rods into mechanical engagement with the fiber optic member with no or minimum deformation to the fiber optic member and securing the fiber optic member in the ferrule member.

Connector for fiber optic member including polishing fixture and method

A rotary switch assembly comprises dielectric housing members stacked together, each of the housing members having electrical brush contact members extending into a cavity formed between pairs of housing members. A printed circuit board is disposed in each cavity and has a profiled opening mounting the printed circuit board on a corresponding profiled section of a shaft for rotating the printed circuit boards relative to their respective brush contact members to selected positions for electrical engagement on a selected electrical circuit on the printed circuit boards. Bushing members are located on the printed circuit boards and have profiled bores substantially in coincidence with the profiled openings in the printed circuit boards increasing the area of engagement on the shaft for rotating and accurately positioning the printed circuit boards relative to the brush contact members and adjacent bushing members engage one another to accurately position the printed circuit boards in their respective cavities.
