The disclosed apparatus may include (1) a cage designed to hold an optical module, (2) a ramp that is secured to the cage and supports a heat sink such that the heat sink is capable of moving along the ramp, and (3) at least one spring having one end coupled to the ramp and another end coupled to the heat sink, wherein (A) prior to insertion of the optical module into the cage, the spring exerts a force at least partially directed along an axis of insertion of the optical module and (B) insertion of the optical module into the cage moves the heat sink along the ramp such that the force exerted by the spring (I) rotates away from the axis of insertion and (II) presses the heat sink against a surface of the optical module. Various other apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Apparatus, system, and method for improving the thermal conduction of heat sinks

Fan trays and components thereof are described herein. In some embodiments, a removable, compact fan tray is configured to be disposed within a slot of a chassis. The fan tray can be latchably coupled to the chassis, and/or can include a light source, such as an LED operable to depict the status of the fan tray. Leads of the light source can be disposed within an sleeve operable to contain and/or insulate the leads. The fan tray can, in some embodiments, be configured to be keyed to a particular type of chassis slot, for example, a slot associated with an air flow direction.

The disclosed apparatus may include (1) a housing designed to house a field-replaceable unit within a telecommunication system, (2) a connector that is designed to electrically interface the field-replaceable unit with the telecommunication system in the housing, (3) a spring that is coupled to the housing, and (4) a movable injection cam that is coupled to the spring such that, when the field-replaceable unit is installed in the housing by way of an ejection lever that presses against the movable injection cam, the spring applies a force on the movable injection cam that causes the movable injection cam to push the field-replaceable unit toward the connector. Apparatus, system, and method for improving communicative connections between field-replaceable units and telecommunication systems

An apparatus for clamping and relieving strain in a set of optical fiber ribbon. The strain relief clamp includes a first attachment portion and second attachment portion configured to secure the strain relief clamp to a system component and a set of optical fiber ribbons to the strain relief clamp. When secured the strain relief clamp is configured to relieve strain in the set of optical fiber ribbons.

Air flow ducts for improving the air flow within data processing units are described herein. In some embodiments, a duct includes an inlet portion and an outlet portion. An interior surface of the outlet portion of the duct defines, at least in part, a portion of a flow path. The duct is configured to be coupled to a printed circuit board within a data processing unit such that a first portion of a cooling fluid can flow within the flow path between the inlet portion of the duct and an electronic device coupled to the printed circuit board. An exterior surface of the outlet portion of the duct is configured to redirect a second portion of the cooling fluid to a volume within the data processing unit apart from the electronic device.
