A pyrotechnic composition includes a fuel, an oxidizer, flow and rate control agents and oleoresin capsicum as an irritant. The composition is useful in crowd control products. The composition contains rate control ingredients to maintain combustion at a temperature below the point of degradation of the oleoresin capsicum, balanced with a booster material to maintain combustion.

A stun grenade includes a fuze assembly secured to a housing adjacent gas outlet ports. The fuze assembly includes a fuze body having contact surfaces located in the flow path of the gas from the outlet ports so that gas flowing from the outlet ports impinges on the contact surfaces. The contact surfaces of the fuze body extend at an angle of no more than about 50 degrees to the first direction.

A munition includes a projectile and a propellant unit. A propellant insert in the propellant unit has at least two propellant chambers each receiving a respective propellant charge. A primer mechanism is actuatable to ignite all of the propellant charges in the propellant insert. The combustion products of a selected one of the propellant charges are directed to the projectile and the combustion products of the non-selected propellant charges are vented.

A munition includes a projectile and a propellant unit. The propellant unit includes a shell having a cylindrical configuration centered on a longitudinal central axis of the munition. The shell has a cylinder opening that receives a cylinder. The cylinder is selectively rotatable in the cylinder opening about a cylinder axis, offset from the munition axis, between a plurality of firing positions. The cylinder has a plurality of propellant chambers each with a respective propellant charge. The propellant chambers are located in the cylinder so that when the cylinder is in a firing position one of the propellant chambers is on munition axis.

An adjustable range munition has at least one gas vent that is selectively variable to affect the amount of force that is directed onto the projectile upon actuation of the propellant section, thereby to control the range of the munition.

A reloadable munition having a reusable shell base having a hollow cavity on a bottom face to accept a propulsion system reload and a reusable projectile inserted into a top portion of the shell base, and a mechanical retainer for the propulsion system reload in the shell base to provide reloading and reusing of the munition by hand.

A drag stabilized low lethality impact munition includes a sub-munition packaged in shell case. The sub-munition includes a main body having a trailing feature that is folded to extend at least partway around at least one of the sides of the main body toward the top of the main body. After folding, the sub-munition is inserted into the shell case, bottom first, while maintaining at least a portion of the trailing feature along at least one of the sides of the main body.

Drag stabilized low lethality impact munitions and methods

A primer-fired ammunition cartridge for an electrical discharge weapon having a housing with an exterior surface and two wire-tethered darts positioned within dart chambers in the housing and two electrical contacts positioned on opposite surfaces of the housing for lengthening an electrical arc path across the exterior surface of the housing. The housing can include a flange portion for engaging a chamber in an electrical discharge weapon wherein the flange portion includes an aperture thereby allowing the flange portion to bow and absorb resultant forces between the ammunition cartridge and the chamber of the electrical discharge weapon during firing of the cartridge.

An ammunition cartridge for an electrical discharge weapon having at least one dart positioned within a dart chamber in the housing. The cartridge has at least one adjustable barrel for selection between close and extended ranges and a joint and port for adjusting pressure in the barrel. In another form the cartridge has two fixed barrels and a retractable deflection ramp for selection between close and extended ranges.
