An electrical power distribution system for a mobile platform, and a method for making such, includes a forming a substrate having a first panel connected to a second panel. The first panel resides in a first plane that differs from a second plan in which the second panel resides. One or more bus bars are arranged on the first panel, with one or more power electronic devices arranged on the first panel and connected to the one or more bus bars. One or more connectors are arranged on the second panel and electrically connected to the one or more bus bars. Finally, one or more thermal relief devices are arranged in contact with the substrate.

Three-dimensional power distribution interconnect structure

An apparatus includes a substrate layer formed from a pottant material that extends longitudinally in an unwound state. Cores are spaced longitudinally along the substrate layer and joined to the substrate at a first surface. The apparatus further includes pottant segments joined to the cores at a second surface opposite the first surface.

Rolled inductor with thermal pottant

A solid-state contactor includes a housing, a lead, a bus plate, and an end connector. The lead extends through the housing and into an interior of the housing. The bus plate is disposed within the housing interior and mounts a die which is electrically connected to the lead through the bus plate. The end connector extends between the bus plate and the lead, attaching to the bus plate at an angle for coupling a plurality of bus plates with die to the lead in a stacked arrangement.

A flexible laminated thermocouple is provided and includes layers of insulation material. At least one of the layers has a longitudinal axis and includes thermocouple conductors formed of differing electrically conductive materials. Each of the thermocouple conductors includes a main section extending along the longitudinal axis and a flange extending transversely to the longitudinal axis. The main sections are insulated from one another and the thermocouple conductors are insulated from thermocouple conductors of another layer.

A contactor mounting system is disclosed herein. The contactor is directly mounted to the printed wire board. Pins may be coupled to an exposed end portion of the first stationary lead and the second stationary lead of the contactor. Pins may be configured to interconnect the contactor to the printed wire board.

Integrated contactor mounting and power distribution system and method

A power distribution system element formed via an additive manufacturing technique, such as applying a conductive material to a memory metal substrate, are discussed herein. In operation (e.g. in response to delivering current through the distribution system), the memory metal contracts while the conductive material expands. The result is distribution system element having reduced thermal expansion, which can be net zero coefficient of thermal expansion.

A Litz wire terminal assembly includes a wire bundle having a plurality of electrically conductive strands extending between a first end and a second end to define a length. Each strand includes an insulative cover having a proximate cover end at the first end and a distal cover end at the second end. The distal cover end is flush with the second end. The Litz wire terminal assembly further includes a ferrule on the wire bundle. The ferrule has a distal ferrule end at the second end of the conductive strands.

Housing for electrical components includes a housing body, an insulating body and a bus bar. The insulating body is disposed within the housing body and is integral with the housing body. The bus bar is disposed within the within the housing body and embedded in the insulating body. The insulating body and housing body are integral with one another for fixing the bus bar within the housing body.

A plurality of cores are arranged in a loop between an inner wall and an outer wall. A gap filler is arranged circumferentially between each of the plurality of cores. A high thermal conductivity potting material is arranged around both the inner and outer edges of the core segments. A winding wraps around each of the plurality of core segments. The windings may be embedded within the high thermal conductivity potting material.

Method of manufacturing an inductor coil

An integrated circuit assembly element formed via an additive manufacturing technique, such as mixing a conductive material with a memory metal to form a portion of a substrate in desired locations, such as along the footprint of die, are discussed herein. In operation (e.g. in response to thermal cycling of the assembly) the memory metal contracts while the conductive material expands. The result is an element having reduced thermal expansion, which can be net zero coefficient of thermal expansion and/or be catered to the coefficient of thermal expansion of a desired material, such as the silicon die.

System and method for metal matrix mounting scheme

An electrical contactor assembly is provided including an electrical bus bar and at least one electrical contactor. The electrical bus bar includes a layer of insulation, a layer of copper, and a composite core having at least one wire embedded therein. The wire is configured to locally reduce thermal strain. The at least one electrical contactor is mounted to the layer of copper through an opening in the layer of insulation. The electrical contactor and the bus bar are thermally and electrically connected.

A circuit breaker module includes a breaker circuit connected to a first electrical lead and a second electrical lead, a housing surrounding the breaker circuit, wherein said first and second electrical leads extend through the housing, and wherein the housing is at least partially constructed of a thermally conductive polymer, and a heat dissipation feature contacting the housing, wherein the heat dissipation feature is operable to dissipate heat from the breaker circuit.
