An axle coupler comprises driver teeth to engage teeth of a corresponding driver; a central aperture having a central axis and a circumference; and the central aperture including axle teeth circumferentially surrounding the central axis; each axle tooth having a first dimensional direction parallel to the central axis; each axle tooth having a second dimensional direction orthogonal to the first dimensional direction; a recess formed in each axle tooth to form a first axle tooth portion and a second axle tooth portion.

A full-locking differential drive mechanism, comprised of an input drive which is composed of a pair of opposed spaced drive races, each having an inner diameter, a coupling block disposed between the races for coupling them to drive together, output driven means comprising a pair of co-axially disposed coupler members, each having an outer diameter disposed within the drive races inner diameters, which produces a bi-directional roller clutch disposed between the inner diameters and the outer diameters and operative to couple the drive races to the coupler members enabling driving engagement therebetween.

Automotive full locking differential

A locking differential is provided for selectably locking a first axle to a second axle. The locking differential utilizes a dog clutch assembly characterized by two interlocking clutch members positioned between the differential side gears on opposing sides of the differential pinion shaft. The interlocking clutch members have face splines thereon for engaging corresponding face splines formed on the side gears. An actuating mechanism can be selectably activated to force the two interlocking members into engagement with the side gears.

An automotive differential assembly for a vehicle having a driving case enclosing a pair of driving members operably coupled with a pair of driven members. The driven members are secured to output shafts and the driving members are forcibly driven by a driving shaft having its opposite ends in engagement with the driving case. The driving shaft passes through eccentric or angled apertures formed by cooperating arcuate surfaces provided in opposing surfaces of the driving members. The driving members and the driven members are urged together respectively by at least four dampening springs providing both axial and radial force which dampens or eliminates sudden impact encountered when the shaft moves back and forth within the apertures. The driving members may be loosely aligned and interrelated by pins and enlarged holes, by pins and laterally opened holes or by a key and keyway or channel construction.

A differential assembly having a driving case enclosing a pair of driving members operably coupled with a pair of driven members. The driven members are secured to output shafts and the driving members are forcibly driven by a driving shaft having its opposite ends in engagement with the driving case. The mid-section of the driving shaft passes through an eccentric or angled aperture formed by cooperating arcuate surfaces provided in opposing surfaces of the driving members. The driving members and the driven members are urged together respectively by double oppositely wound concentric springs bearing against a pin carried in an elongated hole coextensively provided in opposing surfaces of adjacent driving members of both pairs. Inspection and access openings are provided in passageways and in the oblong cross-section of part of the passageways.

The addition of a dual-acting sleeve enhances the capabilities of a police night stick, or baton, that has a right-angled auxiliary handle. By exercising light hand-grasp pressure on the sleeve the baton can be maneuvered rotatively about the auxiliary handle. By exercising a firm pressure on the sleeve the rotation can be instantly stopped.

A relatively infinitely incremental mode of obtaining any desired brightness of flash from an electrically operable flash-tube is attained by employing plural capacitors, each having a charging source of selectable voltage level and a unilaterally conductive element between the capacitor and the flash-tube. The unilaterally conductive element is poled to pass the charge on the associated capacitor during the discharge cycle regardless of the voltage of the charge on other of the plural capacitors involved.
