A modular axle clamp and riser system for use in a suspension system, which includes a top mount having a substantially flat upper surface, a top mount body which extends transversely to the flat upper surface, a pair of opposing ears which extend from the top mount body, and at least one top mount tooth extending from the top mount body in a direction opposite the ears. Also included is a wedge with at least one wedge tooth which matingly engages the at least one top mount tooth, a wedge upper surface, and a pinion angle surface. Further, the wedge defines a pinion angle between the wedge upper surface and the pinion angle surface. Moreover, an axle mount with at least one axle mount tooth which matingly engages at least one of the at least one top mount tooth and the at least one wedge tooth is provided.

Modular axle clamp and riser system

A tandem suspension system. At least two parallel axles are connected via two eyeleted leaf springs. The eyeleted leaf springs have ends that terminate in eyelets. Each eyelet receives a bushing and adjustable pin. A bracket secures the axles to the eyeleted leaf springs. The eyeleted leaf springs are camelback leaf springs, planar leaf springs or bent leaf springs. Additional leaf springs are also provided.

Tandem suspension system

A wear pad for a guide rail of a trailer with a slider suspension assembly, including at least one leg configured to be positioned between the guide rail and a frame member of the slider suspension assembly. The wear pad permits the passage of lock pins through the wear pad. A wear pad includes two legs that provide the wear pad with an L-shaped profile. One of the legs of a wear pad includes different portions with different thickness.

A strut assembly including a first cylinder, a second cylinder configured to reciprocally move within the first cylinder, and a damper assembly positioned within the first cylinder. The damper assembly includes a housing having opposing first and second ends, a floating piston in the housing and a damper piston positioned between the floating piston and the first end of the housing. The damper piston divides the housing into first and second chambers, where the first and second chambers include a hydraulic fluid that provides resistance to the movement of the damper piston in the housing. The strut assembly also includes a gas spring in the first and second cylinders, where the gas spring includes a pressurized gas contained within the first and second cylinders.

An IFS assembly having a single lower control arm having an inboard end pivotally secured to a chassis support structure, an air spring supported by an air spring seat relative to the lower control arm, a strut having an upper end pivotally secured to the chassis support structure and a lower end coupled to the lower control arm outboard end, and a steering knuckle fixed to the strut lower end, the steering knuckle disposed below the lower air spring seat and whose rotative movement about the strut axis is unconfined by proximity between the steering knuckle and the tower air spring seat, whereby available wheel cut is maximized. Also an IFS module including right and left side IFS assemblies and adapted for installation into a vehicle.

An independent suspension and steering system that can be used with a large truck. The suspension system includes a transversely extending leaf spring assembly. The midpoint of the leaf spring assembly is secured at the centerline of the vehicle while the two opposing ends of the leaf spring assembly are shackled to vertically moveable carriers on which the steering knuckles are pivotally mounted. The steering unit includes a transversely extending relay rod which is attached to tie rods at its opposite ends. The tie rods are, in turn, attached to the steering knuckles. In some embodiments, at least one steering gear is coupled with the relay rod via a connecting rod that is secured at one end to the rotating output shaft of the steering gear and secured at its other end to the relay rod.

Independent suspension and steering assembly

A lift axle suspension system for use on a vehicle having a chassis. The lift axle suspension system includes an axle assembly that is operably coupled to the vehicle chassis with a support arm assembly. A support biasing member is located between the axle assembly and the vehicle chassis for transferring loads between the axle assembly and the vehicle chassis. A lift spring member is also provided. The lift spring member is an air spring member and has one end that is pivotally mounted. Extension of the lift spring member lifts the axle assembly from a use position where the wheels attached to the axle assembly are engageable with a road surface to a storage position where the wheels attached to the axle assembly are not engaged with the road surface.
