A transceiver apparatus () is configured to support antenna selection in accordance with a communications standard. The apparatus comprises a hardware subsystem () comprising a duplexing component (), a transmitter chain, a first receiver chain () and a second receiver chain () respectively comprising a first antenna port () and a second antenna port () at an upstream end thereof. The first receiver chain () and the transmitter chain sharing the duplexing component (). The apparatus further comprises a signal redirection system () arranged to couple temporarily the second antenna port () to the first receiver chain () at a point of entry thereof and in response to an antenna selection instruction, thereby redirecting temporarily a signal path from the second antenna port () into the first receiver chain () and then back into the second receiver chain () downstream of the point of entry.

Transceiver apparatus supporting antenna selection and method of processing received signals

An amplifier apparatus () comprises a main linear amplifier sub-circuit () having a main driving signal input terminal () and a main amplifier output terminal (). The apparatus also comprises an auxiliary linear amplifier sub-circuit () having an auxiliary driving signal input terminal () and an auxiliary amplifier output terminal (). A combining network () is operably coupled between the main amplifier output terminal () and the auxiliary amplifier output terminal (), the combining network () having a main-side terminal () and an auxiliary-side terminal (). The main linear amplifier sub-circuit () is arranged to generate, when in use, a main amplified signal in response to a main driving signal applied at the main driving signal input terminal (). The auxiliary linear amplifier sub-circuit () is arranged to generate, when in use, an impedance modifying signal at the auxiliary-side terminal () in response to an auxiliary driving signal and at substantially the same time as the main linear amplifier sub-circuit () generates the main amplified signal, the auxiliary linear amplifier sub-circuit () also being arranged to amplify substantially more than half of each wave cycle of the auxiliary driving signal.

Power amplifier apparatus, envelope tracking amplifier apparatus and method of amplifying a signal

A signal isolation control apparatus for controlling duplexing of signals to be transmitted through and received from an antenna. The apparatus includes a transmitter chain tap input for coupling to a transmitter chain. An auxiliary transmitter chain is operably coupled to the transmitter chain tap input for processing a transitory signal tapped from the transmitter chain, the auxiliary transmitter chain including an adaptive filter unit and a balance node output for operably coupling to a balance node of a hybrid junction. The adaptive filter unit has a signal leakage monitoring input for operably coupling to an output node of the hybrid junction. The auxiliary transmitter chain is arranged to process the tapped transitory signal in order to generate and apply an isolation signal at the balance node output for maximizing isolation of an output node of the hybrid junction from an input node of the hybrid junction.
