An adapter bracket for retrofitting an existing troffer light fixture includes one of a channel, a base portion, and a frame member, each configured to rest on a T-bar of a ceiling system. The channel is configured to receive and retain a portion of a troffer housing for the existing troffer light fixture. The base portion is configured to support the troffer housing along a full length of the troffer housing. The frame member defines an aperture configured to receive a portion of a troffer door assembly. The aperture includes a slot and a notch, where the notch is defined adjacent to the slot and is narrower than the slot. Each of the base portion, the channel, and the frame member includes a mounting surface configured to engage with a retainer of the troffer door assembly.

Troffer light fixture retrofit systems and methods

A retrofitting kit includes at least one of an adapter bracket and a retainer configured to engage at least one of an existing troffer light fixture and a T-bar of a ceiling system and a door assembly configured to be held in the ceiling system by the at least one of the adapter bracket and the retainer. The door assembly has a housing, the housing including one or more sidewalls, where the one or more sidewalls extend upward to define a cavity, and a plurality of LEDs having primary light axes extending inward into the cavity. The plurality of LEDs are coupled to the one or more sidewalls and positioned to illuminate at least a portion of the housing from behind with a uniform distribution of light when engaged.

Periphery-lit troffer light fixture retrofit systems and methods

A light fixture includes an enclosure having a top side and an opposing underside, and a luminaire module. The luminaire module includes a panel, a plurality of LEDs, a first reflector, and a second reflector. The panel extends along the opposing underside of the enclosure. The plurality of LEDs are coupled to the panel and arranged in at least one row. The at least one row has a first lateral side and a second lateral side. The first reflector is coupled to the panel and disposed along the first lateral side of the plurality of LEDs. The second reflector are coupled to the panel and disposed along the second lateral side of the plurality of LEDs. The panel is releasably attached to the enclosure such that replacement of the panel simultaneously replaces the plurality of LEDs, the first reflector, and the second reflector.

Systems and methods for high bay light fixtures

A retrofitting kit for retrofitting an existing troffer light fixture having a troffer housing includes a door assembly and a retainer including a flange. The flange is deformable between a first position and a second position. The light source is within the housing. The retainer includes the flange coupled to the housing of the door assembly. The retainer is configured to engage at least one of the troffer housing and a T-bar of a ceiling system to thereby selectively secure the door assembly within the ceiling system when the flange is in the first position. The retainer is further configured to facilitate at least one of installation and removal of the door assembly when the flange is in the second position.

A retrofit light fixture for retrofitting an existing strip-style light fixture, the retrofit light fixture includes a housing, a light emitting diode, a driver, and a bracket. The housing includes a base portion, a side portion, and an end cap. The housing defines an interior space. At least one of the base portion and the side portion define an elongated opening. The driver is disposed within the interior space of the housing and configured to interface with the light emitting diode. The bracket includes a body and a locking flange. The locking flange is configured to selectively engage with a portion of a housing of the existing strip-style light fixture. The bracket is slidably coupled to the housing with a fastener that extends through the elongated opening. The bracket is selectively repositionable between a disengaged orientation and an engaged orientation.

Strip fixture retrofit systems and methods

A retrofitting kit for retrofitting an existing troffer light fixture having a troffer housing includes an adaptor bracket and a door assembly. The adaptor bracket includes a channel configured to rest on a T-bar of a ceiling system, and further configured to be located between the T-bar and the troffer housing, a slot, and a latch surface. The channel defines an open slot configured to receive and retain a portion of the troffer housing thereby facilitating a retrofit installation. The door assembly includes a latch configured to engage the latch surface of the adaptor bracket, a hinge configured to interface with the slot of the adaptor bracket, a housing including the latch and the hinge, and a light source coupled to the housing.

A light fixture is configured for use in either retrofitting an existing troffer light fixture or for use in new construction. The light fixture includes a self-supporting adaptor bracket configured to rest on a T-bar of a ceiling system and further configured to optionally receive a housing of the existing troffer light fixture. The light fixture further includes a door assembly including a latch configured to engage a latch surface of the adaptor bracket, a hinge configured to interface with a slot of the adaptor bracket, a housing including the latch and the hinge, and a light source within the housing.

Combination retrofit and new construction troffer light fixture systems and methods

A retrofitting kit for retrofitting an existing troffer light fixture having a troffer housing includes an adaptor bracket and a door assembly. The adaptor bracket includes a channel configured to rest on a T-bar of a ceiling system, and further configured to be located between the T-bar and the troffer housing. The channel defines an aperture configured to accept either a hinge or a latch of the door assembly, and the channel defines a latch surface. The door assembly includes a hinge configured to interface with the adaptor bracket, a latch configured to engage the latch surface of the adaptor bracket to hold the door assembly in a closed position, a housing including the latch and the hinge, and a light source coupled to the housing.

Light fixture

A retrofitting kit for retrofitting an existing troffer light fixture having a troffer housing includes an adaptor bracket and a door assembly. The adaptor bracket is configured to rest on a T-bar of a ceiling system, and further configured to be located between the T-bar and the troffer housing. The adaptor bracket includes a base portion and a wall coupled to the base portion, and the troffer housing of the existing troffer light fixture rests on the base portion when the adaptor bracket is disposed between the T-bar and the troffer housing of the existing troffer light fixture. The base portion extends horizontally and along the entire length of the adaptor bracket.

A light fixture includes a housing with a channel configured to contain a driver for driving one or more light emitting diodes located outside the channel. The housing includes slots configured to receive and secure a lens. The light fixture further includes a removable channel cover, tabs located along the length of the channel and adjacent to the channel on the housing, and a lens bar having a first flange configured to secure the lens and a second flange configured to be inserted underneath the tabs. The lens bar is secured in place with the second flange underneath the tabs by the channel cover which prevents the lens bar from moving laterally with respect to the tabs. The slots, the first flange, and a flange running the length of the light fixture perpendicular to the slots are configured to cover the edges of the lens when installed.
