Disclosed herein are polyamine transport inhibitors (PTI) and methods of use as antivirals. Disclosed PTI compounds are useful as treatments for viral infections or can be used as prophylactic agents that protect high risk individuals from becoming infected by the virus. The disclosed PTI compounds can be used alone or in combination with other agents (or other antivirals) to improve patient outcomes such as DFMO (or Remdesivir).

Polyamine transport inhibitors as antivirals

The methods and compositions described herein are based, in part, on the discovery of a polypeptide of soluble CD23 (sCD23) that binds and sequesters IgE. Thus, the sCD23 peptides, polypeptides and derivatives described herein are useful for treating conditions or disorders involving increased IgE levels such as e.g., allergy, anaphylaxis, inflammation, lymphoma, and certain cancers.

Treatment of IgE-mediated disease

Provided herein are novel small molecule pyridomyrimidone viral inhibitor agents of Formula (I), such as 4-acetyl-2,3,7,8-tetrahydro-3-phenylpyrido[1,2-f]pyrimidin-1-one, and methods of using pharmaceutical or therapeutic compositions comprising such viral inhibitor agents of Formula (I) in inhibiting and treating viral infections including orthopox and retroviral infections. Methods of synthesizing such agents are also provided herein.
