Disclosed herein are lighting apparatuses that have a centered light source and at least one off-center light source. According to certain embodiments, a lighting apparatus includes a first light fixture having a first light source arranged at a first position that is centered with respect to a first optical axis of a first optic, and a second light source arranged at a second position that is off-center with respect to the first optical axis of the first optic. The first optic is configured to receive light emitted by the first light source and the second light source.

Disclosed herein are lighting apparatuses that have an oblong optic that corresponds to a plurality of light sources. According to certain embodiments, a lighting apparatus includes a plurality of light sources that are arranged along a linear direction, and an optic that is configured to receive light from each light source of the plurality of light sources. The optic has an oblong shape with a long axis that is parallel to the linear direction, and the optic is configured to emit an output light beam that is substantially rotationally symmetric in a plane that is orthogonal to an emission direction of the plurality of light sources.

A lighting system includes a first luminaire. The first luminaire includes a first light source that generates a first light output. The first luminaire also includes a first visual feedback response source that generates a first visual feedback response output. Additionally, the first luminaire includes a first speaker that generates a first audio output. Further, the lighting system includes a second luminaire. The second luminaire includes a second light source that generates a second light output and a second visual feedback response source that generates a second visual feedback response output. Furthermore, the second luminaire includes a second speaker that generates a second audio output. The second audio output is different from the first audio output such that the first speaker and the second speaker output different audio components of a multichannel audio protocol output.

Certain aspects involve a lighting fixture including multiple de-saturated color LED groups and in which the color temperature and intensity of the generated light can be selectively modified. The lighting fixture is driven by a multi-channel driver that independently controls the multiple de-saturated color LED groups. In one example, the de-saturated color LED groups are made with the same Indium gallium nitride (InGaN) LED, as to maintain all electrical/thermal characteristics. The color temperature and intensity of the lighting fixture are adjusted by managing the intensity of each of the de-saturated color LED groups according to a lookup table or a formula describing the relationship between the intensities of the de-saturated color LED groups and the color temperature and intensity of the lighting fixture. Because de-saturated color LEDs are used in the lighting fixture, dynamic dimming or 'warm dim' can be achieved to replicate the effect of an incandescent lamp.

A luminaire includes a first light source positioned at a first level of a luminaire housing. The first light source generates a light output. The luminaire also includes a trim component positioned at a second level of the luminaire housing different from the first level, The trim component includes a visual feedback element that emits a visual feedback response. Further, the luminaire includes a control circuit positioned at the second level within the trim component. The control circuit controls operation of the visual feedback element.

A luminaire includes a speaker positioned at a first depth within a luminaire housing and capable of generating an audio output from a speaker diaphragm. The luminaire also includes a light source that generates a light output. Further, the luminaire includes a light guide assembly positioned at a second depth within the luminaire housing different from the first depth. The light guide assembly includes an acoustically transparent area positioned along a sound path from the speaker diaphragm, and the light guide assembly extracts the light output from the light source and directs the light output away from the luminaire.

An analog-based dimmable LED lighting system includes a plurality of LED lighting modules, which emit light at different correlated color temperature (CCT) ranges. Each of the LED lighting modules is powered by a common dimming signal in the form of an AC voltage which corresponds to a dimming level in a dimming region. Each of the LED lighting modules includes an LED, an analog rectifier bridge to convert the AC voltage of the common dimming signal to a DC voltage, and an analog current limiter connected between the rectifier and the LED to control current through the LED according to the common dimming signal. The LED(s) in the different lighting modules are controlled, via respective analog current limiter, to produce a resultant light at a selected CCT and light intensity according to the common dimming signal.

Electronic circuitry for color-mixing in an LED light fixture during AC power dimming is disclosed to achieve adjustable color temperature. According to one embodiment, a dimmable LED light fixture has first, second, and third LED light sources, the first and second LED light sources producing white light, the third LED light source producing colored light, the LED driver configured to power the LED light sources by providing a single-channel variable-DC current source having two output terminals, and a current regulator for maintaining the current in the third LED light source path substantially constant as the LED driver output current is decreased when the AC power is reduced by the dimmer module, thereby altering the color of the light produced by the combination of the LED light sources.

A monitoring system is configured to manage lumen depreciation in a lighting fixture and includes an optic housing, a light source with a light-emitting diode (LED), a processor, and a memory device. The memory device stores instructions that cause the monitoring system to measure elapsed time during which the LED light source emits the light and, based on the elapsed time, determine a current level of the emitted light. In response to the current level changing from an acceptable level to an unacceptable level, an alert is provided to show that the emitted light has reached the unacceptable level. A reset input is received to remove the alert for a predetermined period of time. Changes in status of the LED light source are indicated.
