An apparatus for managing information in a network environment is provided that includes a content service gateway operable to communicate with an end user in order to facilitate a communication session. The communication session relates to a request by the end user for content or for a service. A quota server coupled to the content service gateway is operable to receive a service authorization request from the content service gateway relating to the communication session. The service authorization request operates to authorize access to the service or to the content for the end user.

A configuration management system and related methods are provided to facilitate intersection-based management of configuration information for network devices. In one example, a method includes polling a plurality of network devices to determine address entries stored by address tables of the network devices. The method also includes applying a hash function to the address entries to determine a plurality of key-value associations. The method further includes maintaining a hash table comprising the key-value associations. Each key of the hash table corresponds to an address entry stored by one or more of the address tables. Each value of the hash table identities which of the address tables are storing the address entry corresponding to the associated key.

In a distributed network, a data entry is received. The data entry is stored in a first one of a plurality of nodes and replicated in a second one of the plurality of nodes in order to provide data redundancy in the distributed network. In the event of a failure of the second one of the plurality of nodes, the data entry that was replicated therein is re-replicated into a third one of the plurality of nodes in order to maintain data redundancy despite the failure of the second one of the plurality of nodes. Data redundancy can be retained despite the failure of the second one of the plurality of nodes as long as the overall capacity for the distributed network remains above an initial threshold.

System and method for providing redundant data load sharing in a distributed network

A memory system includes a client device and multiple memory devices. The client device communicates an operation request pertaining to a particular data object to one memory device. Referencing a host table, the memory device identifies multiple memory devices associated with an object key of the data object. The memory device communicates the operation request to the identified memory devices to be completed. If one of the memory devices in the memory system becomes inaccessible, the memory system is capable of replacing the inaccessible memory device in the host table. Furthermore, if a new memory device is added to the memory system, the memory system is capable of modifying the host table to associate some of the possible object keys with the new memory device.

System and method for managing data in a distributed system

Systems, methods and computer program products for sharing state information between a stateless server and a stateful client are provided. A client request to perform an action on the server is accompanied by an encrypted token which contains state information. The server receiving the client request decrypts the token using a symmetric key generated from variable data. The server verifies that the received token is valid and uses the state information contained therein to perform the requested action. The server also provides clients with encrypted tokens using a symmetric key generated from variable data.

Systems, methods and computer program products for sharing state

Systems, methods, and computer program products for authorizing a client request to a web server to execute a CGI application are provided. A web server receives a client request to execute a CGI application from a client. Authentication routines shared by a set of CGIs are executed by the requested CGI application to determine if the request is accompanied by an authentication token. If one is not received, then the CGI attempts to authenticate the client. Upon successful authentication, the CGI creates an authentication token using an authentication key and transmits the token to the client. The authentication token contains token data which is verifiable by the CGI application. Subsequent client requests to execute this or other CGI applications in this set of CGIs instrumented with the authentication routines are accompanied by the authentication token. The requested CGI executes its authentication routines to validate the authentication token and returns the requested output.
