Disclosed embodiments provide methods, systems, and computer program products for implementing enhanced phase power load balancing of a set of systems (e.g., the set of systems of a data center) using a subset of the systems. Disclosed embodiments extract phase currents of a three-phase power source of the set of systems, and determine, based on extracted phase currents for the set of systems, input phase power load balancing for the subset of the systems. Disclosed embodiments alter the current input phase power balancing of the subset, unbalancing the input phase power load for the subset of the systems to provide enhanced phase power load balancing of the set of systems. Altering the current input phase power balancing for the subset of the systems can be implemented by power shifting between power supply units (PSUs), phase rotations, or input phase switching of power distribution unit (PDU) switchable output ports.

Embodiments are disclosed for a latch assembly apparatus. The latch assembly apparatus includes an effort arm, latch housing, a fulcrum, and a torsion spring. The latch housing includes a resistance arm having a claw portion, and an ejection arm. The torsion spring is configured to provide a rotational force around the fulcrum, and on the resistance arm, resulting from a tensioning of the torsion spring between a first end of the torsion spring fixed to the effort arm, and a second end of the torsion spring fixed to a predetermined preload hole disposed on the latch housing. Further, when the latch assembly apparatus is mounted to a removable element, and the removable element is placed in a connection with a drawer element by the latch assembly apparatus, the resistance arm applies a preload to the connection.

A computer-implemented apparatus and related method control a dynamic phase rotation unit of a power distribution unit (PDU). The method comprises using a processor of a system controller for identifying a PDU group of two or more redundant PDUs, receiving input parameters from an input port of each of the PDUs in the PDU group, and comparing the input parameters from of the PDU group. The method further comprises conditioned upon a determination of the following both being true: 1) the input parameters are within a predefined threshold of similarity; and 2) no uninterruptable power supply (UPS) is present, then, responsive to the determination sending, via a network, a phase rotation command to a phase rotation controller to change the phase rotation switches on at least one of the PDUs in the PDU group. Otherwise, responsive to the determination, not sending the phase rotation command.

An apparatus for a fire suppressant system on a server rack includes an integrated battery feature, a manifold, a conduit, and a control card, where the integrated battery feature includes a plurality of battery cells in an enclosure. A first end of the conduit coupled to a control valve on the manifold and a second end of the conduit coupled to the integrated battery feature. The control card configured to open the control valve on the manifold, where the control valve is configured to release a fire suppressant into the enclosure of the integrated battery feature. In one embodiment, the fire suppressant is contained within a pressurized fire suppressant reservoir mounted on the server rack. In another embodiment, the fire suppressant is a cooling fluid diverted from a radiator cooling unit on the server rack.

A non-sealed apparatus for batteries with a containment structure for gasses that includes a battery enclosure with an upper portion and a lower portion. The apparatus further includes a plurality of batteries disposed in a lower portion of the battery enclosure. The apparatus has at least one battery containment structure disposed in an upper portion of the battery enclosure, which is configured to move downward thereby sealing the plurality of batteries upon a condition. Further, a transfer channel assembly is provided within the battery enclosure and configured to transfer and/or contain gases emitted by the plurality of batteries upon the condition. The apparatus also has at least one fan configured to circulate the air in and out of the battery enclosure through the first perforated opening and the second perforated opening.

Methods of fabricating tamper-respondent sensors with random three-dimensional security patterns are provided. The methods include establishing a security circuit pattern for a security circuit of a tamper-respondent sensor to enclose, at least in part, one or more components of a circuit board within a secure volume. The establishing includes determining in three-dimensions boundaries for the security circuit of the tamper-respondent sensor. The boundaries define a sensor volume which the security circuit is to fill in three dimensions. The establishing also includes generating at least one trace configuration for the security circuit pattern. The at least one trace configuration defines a random, three-dimensional security pattern to fill the sensor volume, and the at least one trace configuration establishes, at least in part, the security circuit pattern. The process further includes fabricating the tamper-respondent sensor based on the established security circuit pattern.

Rechargeable battery monitoring and control is provided using a non-linear rate-of-change failure threshold. A non-linear rate-of-change failure threshold is obtained indicative of an operational state abnormality in a rechargeable battery cell, and during the operational state of the rechargeable battery cell, a control compares an actual voltage rate-of-change of the rechargeable battery cell to the non-linear rate-of-change failure threshold. Based on the actual voltage rate-of-change of the rechargeable battery cell exceeding the non-linear rate-of-change failure threshold, the control identifies the operational state abnormality in the rechargeable battery cell. Based on identifying the operational state abnormality in the rechargeable battery cell, the control discontinues the operational state of the rechargeable battery cell.

An electronic module assembly is provided. The electronic module assembly may include one or more processors mounted to a laminate, a top frame mounted to the laminate and surrounding the one or more processors, and a removable lid covering the one or more processors. The removable lid includes latches arranged along a perimeter of the removable lid, the latches engage with a lip of the top frame and secure the removable lid to the module assembly, and the removable lid can only be removed from the module assembly by releasing all of the latches.

Further, the managing includes performing a battery-related action based on the performance of the battery cell trending away from that of the plurality of battery cells.

Aspects include receiving battery pack data for two or more battery packs, the two or more battery packs comprising a first battery pack and a second battery pack, determining a target performance characteristic for the first battery pack and the second battery pack, determining a first hold up time for the first battery pack and a second hold up time for the second battery pack based at least in part on the battery pack data, determining, based on the target performance characteristic, a target hold up time from the first hold up time and the second hold up time, and determining, based on the battery pack data, a first voltage for the first battery pack and a second voltage for the second battery pack that satisfies the target hold up time.

A battery structure is provided. The battery structure includes a casing, a jelly roll assembly, electrodes, insulation and a thermal control feature. The casing includes an internal tube defining a central hole. The jelly roll assembly is disposed with an electrolyte in an annular space about the internal tube within the casing. The electrodes are electrically coupled to the jelly roll assembly and disposed to extend out of the casing. The insulation is disposed to insulate the jelly roll assembly and the electrodes from the casing. The thermal control feature is communicative with the central hole and configured to control battery structure temperatures proximate to the central hole.
